yeah you should steer this back if theres something wrong with what i say or something you dont like you message the poster (PMs ftw much)
and for gearscore like i said its always best to meet the people i can link the acchiv but will it be real? i can say ive done it but whhat proof would there be
its always better to go off your common sence GS doesnt tell you if people are in teh right speccs like a reti thinking hes a tank just cas he has the gear then you can always go on teh armoy fast and look them up to check that they are capped
if theres no hit gems then you can fast get teh hit numbers off the gear adn add it up

My husband just dinged 80 a couple days ago. He, my brother's resto shaman, and myself (BM hunter) queued for Forge of Souls so that we could do the quest chain. So, we got in there and are grouped with a warrior and DK who are obviously much more geared than us. My brother and I have some decent stuff (we've been cramming in heroics to get the badge gear), but my poor husband's gear was rather lackluster. So, these two higher-GS folks are sitting there debating on who is going to tank (even though my husband is a prot paladin), making my husband feel like crap. I'm getting upset because someone is bashing my husband without even giving him a chance, and they're talking in chat as if he isn't there ("Our pally tank has 22k hp, blah blah blah"). Anyhow, the warrior decides he's going to just be a (insert male extremity here) and try to tank everything because he's just that epic. However, I decide that I'm going to stuff it in his face and MD everything onto my husband. And guess what, he tanked it PERFECTLY. Half the time he got aggro onto the mobs by himself without my help. Mr. WarriorTank still stayed in his prot gear the whole time, just to rub it in, and charged far ahead of the group just to make sure he pulled first, and every single time I MD'd it all onto my husband and he tanked it without issue. Needless to say, neither the warrior or the DK ran their mouths after that. So yeah, my husband's GS might be low, but he's a darned good tank. And my brother is a pretty awesome healer. I do know that 22k hp is low by level 80 standards but for heaven's sake, at least give him a chance before running your elitist mouths.

And what I wondered later was, if these two were soooooo freaking awesome, why did they queue for FoS REG? Shouldn't they have been in Heroic if they're just soooooo uber? Jerks.

Actually, 22k is really low for FoS. I would probably have been on the warriors side during that run, but as long as you got trough it ok, I guess...

Oh, I agree with you, and to be honest I was against doing those dungeons because I knew we were all a little undergeared. It was just the way they acted. I'm always a little weary when I do a heroic with a fresh 80 tank (or healer), but I always give them the benefit of the doubt. My hubby's hp is kinda low but he is defense-capped and has the best gear he could get. But these two were just being obnoxious, and I really didn't appreciate it. (I get very very VERY defensive/aggressive when someone starts picking on my family, rawr.)

And to be perfectly honest, after we finished all three dungeons, I was surprised at how easy they really were. We did bring in one of my husband's friends at some point, and he switched to tank because he had more hp and my husband wanted to play around as ret.

Now get this - we had a pally healer in HoR that wanted the defense shield. My husband was going as ret this particular run but really, we all went for the shield (four of us from the same server, we agreed to take him so he could try to get it). My brother's resto shaman went as elemental just to switch it up. But anyhow, for no reason whatsoever a vote pops up to kick my husband. Um, no?...lol. Gee, I wonder who initiated that vote.../glarepallyhealer. So then she asks if my husband is going for the shield, and we reply yes. She leaves. In the middle of the freaking Falric/Marwyn battle. So, now we're left without a healer, and the mobs just keep coming. My brother tries to switch to resto in the few seconds between waves, and his UI bugs, so he's stuck with sub-par healing abilities. Another healer finally joins but I guess there's a wall or something because he couldn't get in. So, we're balls-to-the-wall trying to get through this fight. My husband dies because my brother's healing was all jacked, I nearly die (800 hp, pots on cooldown, eek!), Apollyon is tanking a mage and dies so I get aggro...it was just chaos. But with only three people, we still managed to pull it out, SOMEHOW. Wow. There's something to be said for player skill (and luck, there was a bit of that I admit).

Oh, and then earlier we had done H CoS and our well-geared DK says that he has to go afk to eat, and asks us not to kick him. Ok, fine, he should only be gone a few minutes. We do all 10 waves, both bosses, and are about to go into the Town Hall when finally we decide that he isn't coming back and if he does, he isn't getting a free drake out of it. So, we booted him. My brother, my husband, myself and this cute little gnome mage were pouring our entire beings into this instance to try to beat the timer for the drake. With what was essentially four people, three of which weren't as well geared as we coulda/shoulda been, we still beat the timer. Another DK did join later after we booted the first one, but it wasn't until we were almost at the drake. The mage ended up winning the drake but dang, she earned it. We all did. And what's sad is that I was #1 in dps, followed closely by the mage, then my husband's tank, then the well-geared DKs. >.> I don't understand DKs so maybe they have it hard in that instance, but they had done just barely over 1,000 each. Ms. Mage and I were around 2,500 (still not awesome by today's standards, I know, but for our gear it was pretty darned good). So yeah, all four of us worked so hard in that instance, and even with crappy gear, we still did it. Made me feel proud of all of us. ^_^

Well freaking done, IMO.

Your hubby had the gear to get into FoS as a tank, so 22k hp or not, it was enough by Blizzard's standards. Prot pally threat is fantastic and the MDs certainly helped.

They had a right to be concerned about a tank with hp that low, BUT a quick check of his spec and enchants/gems would say "hey, this guy is prot and seems to know what he's doing" - and that's more than enough reason to shut up and not say anything. In fact...the three of you being there together is MORE than enough reason not to say anything, since you could easily votekick either of them AT ANY TIME. Obviously, you all were above that, and above letting them charge into groups alone and letting them die....which is lucky for them. When people are in the minority and are jerks, they open themselves up to some very justified retaliation.

FoS reg....I have no idea what they'd be in there for. The trinket drops in heroic. O_o If you remember their names, shoot me a PM and I'll check out their armories to see if I can figure out what's up. Course, they may have just queued for the wrong one, which still means they're noobs. xD

Oh, and DKs don't have it hard in CoS. A lot of them simply don't know how to faceroll correctly. ;)

Yep! The regular versions of the ICC instances are pretty easy. I'm pretty sure I paled IRL when I got queued into HoR regular on my pally tank with only two epics (this was before the ilevel requirement buffs; unsure if I still would be now) and it was easy. Given, my blues were heavily ilevel 200, but still. They're easy as long as people know the instances and aren't messing around.

This isn't the topic for it so I don't want any more derailing discussion here, but I do want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that on these forums, 'gay' means 'homosexual', not 'bad' or 'stupid' or 'lame'. This isn't an attack on anyone -- just a reminder for everyone. (If you do need to discuss this matter, please send me a private message and we'll go from there.)

I was doing an H Pit of Saron run for the quest and my trinket for my Boomkin a few days ago(trinket didn't drop, but the staff did, so still win) and when we finished it, the pally tank just charged on through into H HoR. I shrugged and followed, and so did most of the group, though one person dropped... but here's the catch.

According to the LFG tool, both my boomkin and the tank didn't have gear good enough for H HoR.

It did let us requeue for the missing person though, and then we proceeded to one-shot the place. We almost made the timed achievement on the escape too, just missed it by 20 seconds.

Yep, the system is a guideline, not a rule.

Even if you can't queue into these instances through LFG, you can walk in through the front door with lesser gear. Because the instances are linked, you can "loophole" the system that way as well.
