Ill never understand some hunters

Ok during my many strolls in TH, there are times we found Karoma, and a time before while waiting to find some hunter to tame Karoma, this lvl 85 hunter came, and dismissed his pet.. we assumed he was going to tame it so we just cheered him until he started trying to kill him! Thankfully Karoma killed him and my guildie ended up having to tame a second Karoma.. then last night Karoma was up again but the hunter who found him was to low of level, then he said in chat some hunter landed and was killing Karoma.. I went to quickly see if I could help in any way but went to find his corpse.. and it was the same friggen dwarf hunter! It boggles my mind why he would kill him, and its not the first time he's tried to kill a rare so I think hes just some friggen kid who has no life, has only 6 pets and really doesnt like hunter pets. Ugh.. it frustrates me cause I wanted him to flag or something.. I hate hunters like that.

Anyone else have this one hunter or class in their realm who seems to enjoy killing rares for kicks?

Last night I was leveling my druid around Hyjal and I flew into Mr Lava turtle sooo I /w'ed about and a 81 hunter said he wanted it so he invited me to a group.
He had 24k HP so I told him I would have to heal him (Yey HoT's) So he got to me I HoT'ed him up and he started to attack him .... So I let him die thinking he forgot to dismiss his pet. So I ressed him and reminded him to dismiss pet, so he went again and again attacked him .... I couldn't believe it!
(At this point I would like to point out I was on a PvP realm so please excuse the swears!)
So I basicly told him to fuck off I wasn't going to waste my time on helping a idiot kill a rare which other Hunters would love to tame. So for the next 5-10 mins he kept ressing and trying to kill Terreropene .... Lucky enough I found anound Hunter who sat watching him die for awhile with me before taming him
I think most people playing Hunter's keep the 'derp must keep it rare B:' idea. On the realm I was playing on at the time, there are alot of Hunter's like that when Lilatha was on that realm I remember getting loads of /w's 'LOL I just killed Loque when someone was taming it' .... I worry D:

Thats hilarious. Every now and then coming across a huntard who fails is moderately-to-highly amusing.

All Im going to say if your on a EU realm and want to have a good laugh roll on Auchindoun EU ... It is a PvP realm but omg how stupid half the people are their XD Ok back in WoTLK it had Envy who were Top EU guild. But now omg XD I have to explain everything like Im talking to a 2 year old.
Like trying to explain how Madexx wasn't a spirit beast Dx Or how you can't tame Aeonaxx ....

i freakin hate huntards this one time in mara(the one with the waterfalls) and this hunter needs on some items he does not need has a tankin pet out, a cloth hat a staff with int and leather with stats like strength and int and so hes last in dps barely does over 80 while everyone else is doin somewhere between 150-200 he needs caster junk and says that nobody can use the word huntard cuz he made it up(goes in other room punches pillows yelling explitives).

Huntards give hunters a bad name like everything has to be just retarded i read posts about people not knowin the diff between a scorpion and a freakin bm pet, tryin to tame a ?? whale shark with more hp then the lich king( i think?) and killin rares because they think there is an achievment involved they wont get or cuz they want to be total dicks ive seen huntards who kill rares that arent even part of an achievment i can understand if the rare is untamable or a humanoid but come on?

I am often shocked when I find a hunter that does not know of this web set. it makes sens but it helps if all hunters have seen it.

I gotta step up and defend huntards just to be different. Probably because I used to be one.

I saved up every copper I had to get the Embroidered set on my Draenei. Used two swords with strength on them for ages, had a boar out all the time and didn't learn about growl until level 50 or so. I was bad. Really bad. I got mocked, kicked, never invited to anything and it was the worst experience in the world, because everyone else knew something I didn't. Looking at a guide never occurred to me, partly because I considered guides cheating. Trade chat didn't help me out at all either. A kind stranger eventually pointed me in the right direction, gave me some greens to start off with and now my main is sitting pretty with her shiny blue and purples.

I still remember those days pretty clearly and so I'm hesitant to snipe at hunters like that. A lot of the time, they just don't know better.

As another example, my little brother is nine. He has a DK(even though I whined for ages about letting kids under 13 play at all) and he thinks he's tough as nails. I've tried multiple times to nudge him in the right direction, but if I leave the toon alone for a month and come back it'll inevitably be wearing plate grays and loot from Ragefire Chasm. Up until recently he rolled need on everything because 'greed' sounded bad.

My sister was that way for a while as well, with her hunter of all things. It only changed when she came to me in tears because some douchebags were talking trash to her in a PuG about her gear. She wanted advice and now she's got a decent spec and nice gear, has been further into ICC than I have and is generally doing fantastic - camping Loque is cutting into her leveling time, though.

Basically, with a lot of the "durr hurr wat is growl can I melee this" cloth wearing non beast-loreing hunters, they really don't know any better and many of them can be younger players. Hunters are written as the easiest class to play. They're pretty much the ideal beginner class, with a pet who acts as your guardian forever. Everyone knows this, and despite such, I don't think I've met a single person who considers that the huntard asking for gold might be new or, hell, ten years old, or that they'll ever be anything besides a huntard. You could be mocking one of your future top dps. No one ever stops to explain or offer advice because there are a handful of people who don't listen.

Oh and I still don't use Beast Lore. Sorry.

As an aside, we've been spoon-fed the idea of killing rares since vanilla. Unless Blizzard steps in and says "If you see a rare that looks like an animal, don't kill it, because hunters can tame it!" no amount of gray items is going to stop it. Heck, even if they did say that it wouldn't stop rares from being killed. Nothing will stop it until they either remove loot from rares entirely or make the tameable ones somehow unkillable. Not every hunter visits Petopia(sadly) and some still have the mindset of 'silver dragon = phat lewts'. Even I have to give myself a quick slap whenever I see something on my warrior. If it's tameable, I find it a home or leave it, but not without a brief internal struggle.

Umm Nubs.. I have no problem with hunters who are young or who are learning, as I still am pretty much learning something new every day it seems and I have 3 hunters. What ticks me off is when I offer help and they refuse to take it or have some snippy comment and just ignore you. I always offer to help a hunter out by directing them to the proper items, what pets have neat buffs or look really cool. and about beast lore.. when in doubt.. hit tame ^.^ if it says you are unable to control exotics it means its exotic ^.^ my whole thing with that hunter who killed madexx was basically that I spent 20 mins helping him find the rare.. I may be nice but I am not that nice to spend 20 mins helping you kill a rare

And that hunter with Karoma was BM spec, the first time he tried to kill Karoma he was meleeing it.. when I whispered him about Karoma the time before, I told him what Karoma drops and it would be better to tame him since he's BM spec and the buff is great and so is the heals.

I am sorry to hear about your sister, there are alot of douche bags out there who basically will do whatever they can to insult you, even if you know what you are doing, have the right spec, gear, and all that.. they assume you are a huntard as soon as you join and expect this of you

I totally agree that the ones who blatantly ignore advice and/or things like "this is a non-exotic, you can tame it" should probably get a swift kick in the teeth at least once. For all of the preaching about newbies I did up there, there are a few who make our class look bad. :(

Yeah, like the chuckle---- who I told Terrorpene was a rare and quite tamable! He was like 'lol ooo cool a rare lol gonna lol kill it lol'. I was like, dude, stop, someone's gonna tame it. I completely agree with Nub here, and I've had a similar experience myself. I got pushed in the right direction and I also have a sister who kept getting mocked by elitist morons. People don't seem to understand that being NICE and HELPFUL doesn't cost them anything and if they really need more than pat on the back, we can say that it sure as hell buffs their image on the server. People like to gossip.
I tend to go to lengths when it comes to helping someone out with their game, but if they just blatantly ignore my attempts, well, they'll learn one day or another the hard way.

Me too! I feel lucky enough to have been able to race/name change my Shaman after ninja'ing the 3 person Mammoth from VOA. Reinventing yourself after ninja'ing a sweet mount really works wonders!

I gave out free candy myself, and everyone was like "hey look at that sweet new shaman on this server with all the candy! he's on a sweet mammoth too!"
