Obligatory "Where are you, rare pets?" Magic Luck Thread

Had a dream I tamed arcturis last night... Had a server restart earlier, but no luck. Hopefully I can snag him when I get home.

Ok, have to share this one. Ok, had that dream two nights ago? This morning before the server restart, I log in at Amberpine... Arcturis is there. I tame him. I sigh with relief and then look at the timer... "Well," I say, "I bet I can check Gondria before the reset." So, I fly to the popular spot for Gondria (77, 70) and there he is. I get a little ahead of myself, aggro a bear while trapping, and proceed with the tame. Two down in less than 10 minutes with 5 minutes left on the server reset clock. I think, "Let's go for broke..." and I proceed to check for Skoll. I get there with 45 seconds left on the clock, see that he's up... then realize that I can't tame him because I'm level 77. 15 seconds to go, I just mount up and fly off.

C'mon, ghostcat, today is Friday! She's been looking for you for months - a BM hunter since level ten with many levels ahead of her and prone to spoiling her pets rotten.

I know some people put you behind Loque and Skoll for not having all of the bells and whistles, but this girl really thinks you're number one, and I'm not logging off until you spawn. >:C You wanna cut back on my Mechano-Hog grinding? I didn't think you did. Now be a good kitty and spawn!

Edit: Thank you, Gondy, for helping me surprise my dear little sister. :) I can't wait to see her face.

I've never camped Madexx. I've likely spent a mere 20 minutes in total looking for him! Flew by occasionally during my laps for the Camel Figurine, but have... Never really parked myself around his spawn points. Was wondering what story t'mess around with for the Random Pet Challenge... A little nagging feeling within me decided on Uldum. Dragged Krush over to the desert, started flying to the locati- Does that red dot say Madexx!? YES. Doubted it'd be the colour I wanted. After all, it never is! Hastily targeted and star- BLUE. GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT.

MASH TA-... Wait. My stables are full! 25/25! Had to abandon my beloved warpstalker- he's the easiest to get back! Miss him already. Even so, I've always been completely infatuated with blue madexx. Always oogle the screenshots, wishing I had the time to camp! Feels amazing to have him tamed- thought I'd never be able to get him



Augh. If only I was this lucky with other things! Been grinding the same set of ZA shoulders with a 16% drop rate for almost a year. No rare drop mounts, either! 'Tis silly how RNG works.

The Ravasaur Matriarch no longer drops the mini pet. All of the rare spawn raptor mini pets are now found in nests around where the rare spawns. If anyone kills the Matriarch, it could be for a number of reasons (and hopefully none of them malicious).

oh and about the hatchling business,
you're correct

they could likely still believe it does however like I did -because I've seen her dead on far too many occasions to count
I hope the reasons weren't malicious though
but you probly wouldn't be surprised how many peoples first inclination when seeing a rare of any type is "KILL!" and I'm assuming thats the case here

There's big incentive for lowbies leveling up to kill rares now--they give massive amounts of experience (more than level appropriate quests will) and Blizzard's lowered the spawn timers to compensate. I know that if I don't see a hunter around that wants to tame a rare I've come across, I kill it because it's easy XP and I'll even potentially get a decent green to wear/sell.

But anyway, I'm glad the magic thread worked for you. I don't want to derail too much.

Madexx, it doesn't really matter what color you spawn in, so don't be shy--I'm curious if I'd like your green or black morph with Tufani, and I have a friend here who'd love red or blue! Brown's got some love with me right now, so that color's not left out either...it's just had its turn already.
