I still don't know what's wrong with my laptop after trying all the usual fixes. If it won't play games then it is useless to me. Movers are coming tomorrow and taking my cats on a long drive is going to be a nightmare. They hate cars, planes, buses, trains and boats. But I'd be more worried about them on a plane. I don't want them cooped up with any cargo. So in the car they will go. I am prepared for the meowing complaining festival 2011.

Me and my brother finished working on this rental house; we were fixing leaks in all the plumbing we did all that, then today we went in to replace a faucet in the bathroom, and put new shut off valves on some of the water lines. The main problem is one of the faucets is not getting hot water; but we fixed that today. I get home and immediately after I'm done showering my dad says:

"Put your clothes on we have to go back and fix the hot water line"

Me: Why? We just fixed it, and it worked when we left.

"We have to go back to fix the water line!"

Me: WE. JUST. FIXED. IT.

"Well you can go be fucking lazy and do whatever you want"

Me: There is nothing that even needs fixed!

"Go suck an egg"

Me: "Go ____ yourself"

It's been no secret I've not been healthy this past week. But for the past few days, I've been on the mend and becoming productive... Or so I thought. I woke up after less than 2 horus of sleep feeling like my throat was being stabbed by molten hot daggers. This is only worsened by the acid reflux tht's currently bothering me, which means that every time I try to return to bed I'm forced to get up soon after by the acidic pain making me feel even worse. I can barely talk, each time I attempt to it's like my vocal cords are being scraped with coarse sandpaper. Added on top is a dull but persistant headache, blocked sinuses and the sensation that I'm going to be throwing up some time in the next hour.

I'm getting tired of being sick. I want to draw and do art, I want to roleplay with the rest of the guys in the Fury of the Twilight Clan thread, I want to do D&D tomorrow, I want to start making preparations for returning back to TAFE. I want to be productive and social again. Hell, I'll even settle for a few hours more sleep.

What's worse is that I'm out of my perscription meds and I can't pick up the repeat until tomorrow, since the chemist is closed on sunday.

I'm going to go wrap up in blankets on the sofa and hope this is only a temporary relapse.

Oh noes! Poor Moonlost! That's no fun at all! Something that helps me when I have a really bad sore throat is either a) hot egg drop soup or b) hot chicken broth. Also maybe team that up with some bread or crackers just to have something sold in your tummy.

Also, for blocked sinuses [not sure if this is the same as congestion] but what I would do is take a hot shower and breathe in lots of steam. I had bronchitis a while back and this helped a LOT.

So I just woke up like half an hour ago. I made myself a cup of tea as I do then went to make me a bagel only to find they are all moldy. So now I'm hungry and then I saw the cat start to puke in the kitchen so I try to shoo him outside only for him to make it half way to the door before he puked all over the floor so I threw him out side and cleaned it all up. *sigh* Now I have to get ready for uni.

Just being worn out in general.

I feel like a black sheep on my home server lately, like my character is regarded less as an actual character among my friends and more of a "d'aw she's so cute want to hug her to death cuddliepie". Serious RP? With Veeka? No way! The only thing approaching serious I get is with her husband - and I'm not even talking sex. I'm just talking 'don't pat me on the head and chuckle to your friends about how adorable I am while referring to me like some sort of puppy'. Is it because I don't RP a badass? Or is she too Mary-Sue despite jumping through hoops to avoid that? Is it because she's small and thus by association 'cute'? No one will tell me. They all say everything is fine but unless I tell them OOCly to treat Veeka seriously and not like a circus monkey, I'm just stuck feeling a distinct lack of respect both IC and OOC. The last kid picked for the ballgame. I think they think it's funny, but I'd like to edge out of being the comic relief for everyone's serious situations one day. Hell, Goblins who do the same engineering things get treated with more respect than she does, and Blizzard made them comic relief. It's not racial hate, it's not "hey she's a half-Draenei wtf is she doin' hurr", it's "Oh Vee's so cuuuute look she said a word! /patpat".

I'll admit it's funny in small doses. She's sort of stupid and not meant to be taken seriously 100% of the time. I can see some of her friends justifiably treating her that way - key word being some. As in the ones who probably don't know her very well at all. The issue here is that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and doing it, and I'm not even doing anything exceptionally mock-worthy. Maybe it's just the way I write.


Possibly related art rant - Minor not-really-but-kinda-possibly-related-to-sexual-content ahead.

I keep half-jokingly promising my friend smut of our two toons(since she's done some for me before that was really very sweet) but I keep running into issues left and right. I want to draw smut and I love the characters involved since they have quite a story, but nothing ever turns out right. Her leg is funny, his arm is lumpy, her head is tilted in a strange way or her hips are too wide or her waist too narrow - it really boils down to me not having enough talent at the moment. I just can't draw anymore. Hell even if I grab a stock image and trace a skeleton over it, nothing looks right.

And then I have my friends...who are great artists, or close friends with great artists(or rather, close friends with people great at drawing tits) and it makes my stomach turn because they're higher up on the general popularity ladder. I know I can't be BFFs with everyone but it breaks my heart that it feels like the only thing keeping me from talking to some of them on a regular basis is a pair of boobies.

I'm not really afraid of the...erm, seedier side of the WoW art community, and while I'm not signing up for Darknest anytime soon it frustrates me that I don't have enough talent to draw a decent semi-erotic nude(or, hell! a nude at all), even with reference images falling out of the sky. But it seems directly tied into having friends for some reason. All of the cool, serious RP kids(or tauren, orcs, trolls, goblins and elves of legal age) have moderately naughty pictures somewhere. Stumbling across something like that where you can identify the characters right away because you talked to them in game ten seconds ago sort of makes things awkward...because it happens so often in this crowd. And then there's me, feeling left out again.

I've only tried to draw porn once, and it ended up being so bad it was hilarious (the impetus was a fake quote from Jaina about what she was gifting for Christmas, "King Wrynn really misses Lord Bolvar, so I commissioned this picture of the two of them together from an internet artist. I think he's going to like it!")... I've never really felt the need to draw porn, but I know what you mean otherwise—the level of some of the artists on the WoW art communities I'm on is so high I feel really awkward saying anything to them, though I'd really like to. It's sort of the same reason I haven't RPed in years—I've just completely lost my nerve for it; I want to but I can't keep track of everything I think I need to in my head, and don't feel comfortable just jumping in the middle.

On the flip side and semi-related, I hate feeling that I'm a "better" artist than some people, or that some artforms are "inferior" for some reason. It feels inherently wrong because there's so much I don't know, that I can't do, and there are so many people these days that are so much BETTER than I am (and so many of them are younger than me—how did my artistic life go so wrong? I used to use "well they're ten years older than me they have more experience" as my shield against artistic despair, which was at least true to some extent), yet I have to be realistic and admit that I'm NOT at the bottom of the art pile anymore, whatever I might have been a decade ago (a DECADE holy god I'm not that old but I've been putting my crap on the internet for a DECADE), and inherent in that admission is the admission that some people aren't as good/as experienced as I am. I hate that.

Related to both, I hate that I'm so damn shy that I end up not giving feedback on practically ANYTHING, at the risk of sounding like either a crazed fangirl on the one hand, or a thinly-veiled patronizing ass on the other; I'm not either of these things. I know I'm a rambling idiot in the general sense, why should it bother me when I do it in the directed, personal sense? It's the INTERNET, why should I care that my chosen name is attached to random statements on the internet that I made, when I can't control the handful of other people who have chosen the same name and at a glance, the layman probably won't know that they're not the same person?

So school is almost out... My last final is the 27th [seems oh so far away] and all I have standing inbetween me and some sweet, sweet laziness and WoW time is an 8 page paper, my lab notebook and those finals. Until then, I'm working on the paper and my lab notebook but when my brain fizzles out [I'm one of those people who can only concentrate for about an hour or so before my head hurts] I don't have anything to do! I have a 360 but I beat DA 2 and I don't have anything else to play. I wish I could just play WoW on my breaks but I know that would be bad... Ugh. Boredom rant.
