Aeonaxx/TLPD Camping on Moon Guard

I used to think time-lost was the hardest but now that I'm after Aeonaxx I find it the hardest camp of all. Not sure what makes the difference. One one hand, you can't see all the spawn spots unless you camp with a friend or second character, then blood seeker is so small that unless you're on a spawn spot, you're likely to miss it, then there's the chance that a random passersby can always snatch Aeonaxx, and generally Deepholm is more populated that Storm Peaks... And there's been no account of Aeonaxx spawning in the past 4 weeks

Hmm yes and Blood Seeker like Vyragosa gives you a right heart attack when he triggers npcscan!!

Yeah thts about the diff of waiting on Aeonaxx. Its a smaller place with more activty, so its alot easier for someone to snatch him up.

Thats true (darn you ninja mounters!) and if you screw up, he despawns.. so that could be a reason why theres no new news about new mounts.. lower levels would have a heck of alot more trouble and may just end up dying and Aeonaxx will despawn.. while TLPD goes about his merry way.
Actually at the spot I camp.. I have four spawn points I am covering at this one spot. But yes that bat... I have never seen that bat except on Sas...
Saon has missed 4 Aeonaxx chances... never seen TLPD once in her career
Sasrei has seen 1 bat.. and then a few days later got her Aeonaxx.. and just finds TLCs (time lost proto corpses) .. .found vyra this morning though.
Nothing like the drums to freak you out only to see the blue drake.

I am going to say both mounts are just based on pure dumb luck, right time, right place. TLPD does have a much bigger spawn route but the bat more then makes up for it.. (evil bat)

Ooh which spot are you on Sasrei? I'm sitting at 44:49 but still pondering whether there's a better place. My server is pretty quiet and at the moment I'm the only hardcore camper (sad, I know, I feel like I'm addicted to camp something) Just a couple of casuals around for a few hours, and a new crossfaction friend I made who is currently away, but has been camping for 3 weeks unsuccessfully )

Hi,

I am a pretty keen camper and couldn't resist sharing some observations I have made while camping for Aeonaxx.

So I started camping for Aeonaxx a little over 2 months ago. I have missed mounting Aeonaxx on 2 occasions in this time. I camp in excess of 10 hours per day. I live in NSW Australia and camp during business hours and then usually for 3-6 hours at night after returning home from work.

The last time I saw Aeonaxx was a Sunday, 19th March at around 12:40pm. A fellow Horde camper and the only other Horde camper online camping at the time managed to beat me to it after I left the computer to work around the house.... NOTHING worse than watching Aeonaxx cruise around while mounter and also being unable to keep up with it, lol.

So in the last 4 weeks I have camped from around 9am - 5pm AND 6-11pm every business day and have only seen 1 rare spawn, that being Xariona. I have heard rumours and done a lot of research online and determined that Aeonaxx appears to spawn most commonly during the "am" hours of the day. I am not sure if this is intentional on Blizzards behalf - I once read a comment that suggested Blizzard have a certain amount of input over the spawn times and would make sure everyone had an opportunity to get it (Aus players, American players, night players, day players, weekend only players etc AND of course campers). So yeah, I am not sure if this idea is true or not but I think maybe it spawn at those wee hours of the morning what appears to be more consistently could be due to Blizz wanting the people camping hard core style to get it.

Anyway just thought I would share that with the people involved in this thread as you all appear to be somewhat keen campers like myself :)

Aww blue I am sorry to hear that! The few times I missed him on Saon was..
1. He spawned when I logged off to go to bed.
2. He spawned right when I left to grab my pvp helm
3. He spawned while I was in a BG.. (and apparently at my spawn spot)

It is always good to take a note of who is camping and where they are camping, usually there are alot of people in South spots generally questing or just sitting there, so I figure the North spots would be my best bet. Generally I camp NW2 spot, the radius will tell you if it spawns in any of the N spots. I logged off of Sasrei at SW2, when I logged back on I flew a bit and my npscanner went off and Aeonaxx was flying at Nw1.

I would for recommend watching the videos to see the heights of Aeonaxx at each spawn spot, like for instance NW1 he flies pretty low, but SW2 he flies stonecore height.

If you seen my reports.. Aeonaxx spawned varied. 11 20pm, 8 am (NV), 11 40 am, 10 pm... its hard to verify some reports since people like to be... jerks essentially.

I havent seen or heard from him in over a week.. no derpbat either.. but I am not `hardcore`camping.. just camping inbetween pvp to preserve sanity.. I am not one who can just sit still...

I think the worst bit about Aeonaxx camping (as opposed to TLPD) is the blood-seeker... if it's actually supposed to stay for only a few seconds, that's nasty, Blizz. Haha. That and it'll despawn after a failed attempt. 3:

I was at all the wrong spots... and yah... not the best thing nope nope

now I have my guy right at his spawn spot, and logged on to find vyras corpse haha

Another Vyragosa. And yeah, I sit just near Frosthold at bor's breath. My friend who also wants TLPD and is helping me to get mine too sits at Ulduar. That way we got a lot covered.

Spawned at 9:34am and a fellow camper got it. It spawned at NW1.

So today is my rostered day off work, it is the only day I have not been online from 8:45m. I log in at 11am after a nice sleep in to find that it went of right next to the spot I camp!!!! Haha there goes another opportunity. Typical.. Luckily for my friend who normally camps at NE1, they happened to be flying around at that particular point in time which doesn't happen often!!!

Anyway's I better get to work, plenty of things to do around the house
