Yeah, I really enjoy looking for rares to rehome. I'd like to rehome Sambas or Karoma. Maybe Loque and Arcturis, but I've never seen these guys again after my own tame.
Instead, Madexx comes out to say hello every time I take the portal to Uldum. (It's gotten to the point that when Silverdragon announces in gchat that I found Madexx my guildies go "oh look, it's Madexx again, what colour is it this time?") By now I've found him 14 times, 6 of which were completely by luck in the last 1-2 weeks. Like, doing a fly-by when I felt like it, maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I rehomed every double I found, but sadly not many hunters on my server know who Madexx is.. So I get replies like "what is it?" *sadface*

One time I whispered to this girl who didn't know who Madexx was, so I told her to come over to see it and she went "wow, it's so gorgeous!" (I think I created another Madexx lover) she was so happy that she named it after my hunter. That's why I love rehoming rares, it makes me happy to make people happy, it's a win-win!

I always do a quick fly-by to see if anything is up when I pass though a zone, and if it is, I'll let someone know :)
Makes me feel good to see them tamed and not killed.
I rehomed a Karoma this morning (grats to Grimshott!) and that made made my day :)

When I have nothing better to do (not that I wouldn't *cough*heroics*cough*dailies*), I take a portal somewhere and check for rares, usually Madexx :-) Then when I switch characters, I take a portal somewhere else, and just skim that area for rares. I love rehoming them, but on my server too hardly anyone knows Madexx!
I started a thread on my guild forum where I screenshot the rare pre-tame/kill, so I've been searching lately for the few I haven't gotten yet. My guild is oblivious to most rares, and some didn't even know that they drop pets or mounts!
I've never had a hunter offer me gold for a rare I rehomed, but it's not something I expect, far from it. But you get talking to some, and make new friends, and when you found a pet and found a hunter that's really happy about it, well that does make my day too :-)

So yes, I'm not just loving finding rares, but I'd say I'm addicted to it! Wherever I go, there's always a rare detour!

Has anyone ever played Pokemon: Snap! on the Nintendo 64 System? If so let's see a show of hands.

----looks around----

Yeah, looks like we got a few.

For those who DON'T know what Pokemon: Snap! is, it's a Pokemon game where instead of dueling people and catching other Pokemon, you take their pictures. The game got harder as you went along. That's kinda how I just spent the last 2-3hrs or so. I added ALL the Rare-Tamable mobs in EK/Kali and just went for this huge flight looking for all the rares I could find and to take a Snap!(screencap) of me targeting them with NPCscan alerted. It was actually kinda fun, some zones had all possible rares up. I just wish I had known about this when I was leveling my Hunter...I feel cheated for some prime leveling pets. (Prime as in, badass looking.)

One of the most tear-jerking rares I found was Broken Tooth, finally I find Broken Tooth after 6 years of playing (Current Hunter is my 2nd Hunter, First Hunter was a NE Hunter--was a total noob then--) YEARS after the Normalization of Pets. Broken Tooth once had a 1.00 second attack speed which, provided you were BM, made him INSANE for PvP and Raid DPS with the BM Talents of the time. He was #1 and when I found him finally, he was fast asleep out of boredom that no one wants a Broken-Broken Tooth.

I'm kinda torn. I remember when the AH was a dentist's nightmare - full of Broken Teeth. It was fun to go find a particular, effective pet.

That said, it was no fun having only 3 stable slots - then having to go tame for pet skills. Nor was it fun to be considered ineffective unless you had one of those precious few effective pets.

I hear that. It was ALSO no fun buying stable-slots as a Warrior expecting to at some point, get a pet of my own. Haha, those were the days.

And I agree completely, the old way of talenting/leveling a pet was HORRID. A points system where you could only focus on 1 or maybe 2 things? Like greater stamina, armor, resistances or some damage buffs. I found myself running out of points before I even got started.
