he spawns at 18:15. /w him, hes 1 min away in zone. i tag and trap.

as my friend is taming, a horde HUNTER, yes a hunter flies in and kills him and then flies off.

why would anyone do this let alone a hunter.

I conquer with the above statement. I'm sorry you had to go through such a horrible thing. Stuff like that is another reason I will NEVER play on PVP servers.

I would never do this to another Hunter or kill a rare I already had. Usually I end up cheering the Hunter on as they tame the pet.

I will admit though, as soon as you tame the pet I tend to kill you and your new pet if you are Alliance. But I don't feel bad about doing that

First of all, as a horde player, I would like to apologize to you on behalf of all honorable horde hunters.
Not all of us are like that
Believe me, I had the same thing happen to me the first time I attempted to tame Nuramoc..
I have heard rumors lately among some of my friends, that there is a cross server band of hunters that have the moto "keep the rares rare" and are killing any rare pet they see up.
There *might* be a little truth to it, too.
A (horde) friend of mine was camping Arc, and right as Arc popped, he started the tame, when another horde hunter suddenly appeared literally out of nowhere and attacked Arc, killed it and immediately logged off.
I personally saw a hunter attack and kill KK about 3 weeks ago as i was flying over SB farming saronites.
I can not say for certain that it was this rumored band of hunters, but the evidence seems to support it at this point
Or then again.. like someone else said, maybe the douche bags are just out in force lately =/

I have that mentality, especially if I've been camping for longer and some random just pops in and starts taming my spawn because I was at Spawn-Location A instead of Spawn-Location C. I'd rather see MY pet dead than in the hands of some random.

Hell, the below text is my tame story that I posted on Wowhead 2 weeks ago when I tamed him.

After a LLOONNGG 9 hour camp session I finally tamed Sambas! This makes the last of the ultra-rares (For me anyway) He just completed my list that consisted of: Skoll, Loque'nahak, Gondria, Arcturis, Ghostcrawler, Karoma, King Krush, The Razzar, Aotona, Jadefang, Humar the Pridelord and now Sambas! I do still need Chomaggus to complete my Corehound Collection but until Blizzard fixes the hellacious Razorgore Bugs/Glitches...it's never going to happen. Plus, Chromaggus isn't a rare so that's why he wasn't on my list haha. ANYWAY, I found him at the spawnpoint NORTHWEST of Thundar Ruins..

Camped for 9 hours and Tamed due to sheer dedication:

P.S. I almost thought I wasn't gonna get it because there was a few times where other Hunters would port into TwiHigh and offer some substantial gold rewards for location information and one who's primary language WASNT English kept following me and trying to make small talk. Normally I'd be all for it but after 7 hours in and him following me to try to steal my tame I wasn't gonna have it.

Edit: I also tamed Sambas over the corpse of a NE Hunter who tried nabbing him.

Thor, how do you know you were camping longer? Whos to say someone who found that spawn first wasnt there for months? I highly recommend getting RID of that mentality because you'll just wind up without a pet and on wowjackass.com real fast. It's the lowest of the low thing to do.

So next time before you kill someones tame, think for a moment. How would you like it if someone with that mentality swooped in and killed your dream pet?

If there's one thing I've learned about this game, it's how karma has a funny way of repaying you back.

My take on it is this: Yes, I may have been camping longer but sometimes I just get beaten to the draw. Is it fair? Newp.

The only time I'll kill a rare is if I'm midtame and some loser thinks he's gonna take it and tame. No, sorry. It's a bit spiteful I'll admit but I refuse to let someone profit from my loss.

That said, yes, I have missed rares by moments. Even if I camped longer, well, I just missed the moment. I've made quite a few friends camping and all that jazz.

There are only... yeah, two situations in which I'd kill a beast someone's taming.
a) As Novi said, if someone distracting shots and tries to nick something I'm *taming*, I'll kill it under them. If they don't have the decency to let me get my tame and move on, I don't have that time of day for them, either.
b) If you're one of the few fellows who has blatantly gone out of their way to kill a beast I was about to tame, or was holding for a friend - yeah. Lets hope they don't see me when they're about to /cast tame beast on their dream pet. Silly it may be, but karma will come back to bite their rear and I'm more than happy to initiate that.

Aye, as a Horde hunter, I've had my fair share of tames stolen under me from Horde and Alliance alike.

• Lost Arc to an Orc bot, a human pally, and a gnome warlock.
  
  Lost Krush to a NE DK while THREE DIFFERENT HUNTERS (me included) took turns in fair sport to see who could tame him.
  
  I've had people kill me while I've accidentally been flagged PvP, I've had douches kill pets they know I'm taming, had my fair share of insults thrown my way from people who make Horde alts cause they only have Ally characters just to cuss me out because they get there a second too late to attack my pet and get their achievement.

As a hunter, you just gotta truck through loads of crap every time you have a dream to tame. :\

you and your friend have my sympathy, there are a lot of dicks out there, at times they seem to have a personal stake in make everyone elses lives hell, and it sucks royaly, I wish you and your friend the best of luck.

(I'd like to take a sec and apologize in advance to any hunters on Aerie Peak trying to tame King Krush, at some point in the future I am going to kill him but not to be mean and definatly not when someone is taming him, but I've had this Big Game Hunter thing going on with Devilsaurs ever since one ninja'd up on me in ungoro years ago and I won't rest till I've killed them all and KK is last the one on my list, one more kill and I'm done, this is a personal goal/vendetta of mine and I hope you all will understand, again I'm sorry for who ever this may inconvinance)

I camped for a 9 hour strait period while keeping track humanoids up to see if there was any other Hunter/Player around, there wasn't. Which means that he/she just Ported in from SW and "got lucky."

Yes, they "may" have been coming in to check on him periodically for months but that doesn't change the fact that I personally sat and circled around his spawn locations for 9 hours in 1 sitting just to get him. I was the more dedicated of the 2 Hunters that wanted Sambas and you know what, I got him. I don't have any regrets.

You know first of all how would you know that that person wasnt camping longer then you? Just because they didnt camp 9 hours straight like you and how would you know they did if you stayed in one location anyways? Some people have work, or kids or hey a life so are you saying that those people dont deserve the pet they really want because they arent "dedicated" enough? To me that is incrediably rude and I am lucky enough to never have such a "dedicated" person enough to come when I found the rare I really really wanted but couldnt truly "dedicate" myself to camping it due to reasons, and have that person kill it infront of me.

If anything you should understand how hard it is to get the one rare pet you want BECAUSE you camped for so long. The only time I would kill a rare is when some guy tries to pull it off of me and I cant get it back. But to kill a pet while someone is taming it is a wowjackass.com move.

To the OP. I really hope he gets Sambas! I am sorry that some hunters are just jerks. There is actually this noob dwarf hunter on my server who goes around killing rares for kicks.. *hugs*
