So I can't sleep. Popped onto the Armory to check something related to my arena team, and started clicking links out of boredom.

Went onto the Auction bit and messed around for a minute, sorted by Pets, wondering if maybe there was a Black Tabby up.

Oh, Hyacinth Macaw. What is it, the standard 10-12k gold on my--WHAT?

Start WoW. LOG IN, HURRY. Won't load. FUUUU. Uldum?! Land. Start Hearthstone cast... why am I being attacked? Scorpid loads in, but my new demon felboar buddy is keeping him off me. Hearthstone's interrupted at the last second by AoE poison. Start again, can't waste time killing... Get to AH... wait for auctioneers to load...

999g! BUY! BUY! .... Bid Accepted!!

Now.... To sell, or learn? I desperately want a Crimson Deathcharger, but I doubt I'll ever see this thing up for cheap again, and I am a minipet collector.

I'd learn it, if you come across it while farming, then you could sell that one. We always have an abundance of them for sale on my server for 8k at the highest, they never really seem to sell. If it was armor or some other epic or blue I would say sell it.

I, too, am looking for the Crimson Deathcharger, but I was a hair short when it was on the AH two different times in the same week, one going down in price every few days. One day my friend had sent me money (which I still have tucked away in the mail in case of emergency lol) to get the charger but it was sadly gone. I kept farming and selling stuff and saving money. A purple cloak dropped in TB and I pondered sending to my DK alt, but decided to sell it. Now I have more than enough should the charger reappear, but each day I see the Vial drop in price I'm tempted. I refuse to buy any mounts until that charger reappears, or if I find something at a nutty price that I don't have (there isn't much at this point hehe). My plan is to be able to buy the Hog and Vial, yet be able to buy the charger, should he pop up.

Seriously though, learn it. I found an Emerald Whelpling back in BC when I had first started collecting the baby drakes, for like 49 gold or something insane. I ran around doing dailies and selling crap until I had enough to buy it, and somehow it was still there. Got my alt a black Whelpling for cheap as well, only a hundred gold or the like. Regretted not giving to my main but I have em all on her now so *shrug*. That Firefly was a pet I farmed awhile with no drops, but found one for 1k gold on the AH, snatched it right up and learned it. A few others popped up for cheapish a few days later and a friend got it. They haven't been that cheap since. If I was lucky enough to find that Macaw as cheaply as you did I would get it and learn it as well.

Wow, nice price. Just as a heads up though. the price of them HAS dropped since Cata, due to now ALL mobs in STV have a chance of dropping it and people are leveling again. They used to go for 15-20k on my main server and are now down to 5-10k. Just so ya know But you still got it for a STEAL!! I would use it

Ah, I remember when I got mine it was a common white going for 900g...expensive back then =P I learnt it, and haven't regretted it, but obviously it's a different matter now..

I'd say you got an awesome catch, so learn it! =3 (If you're truly a pet collector anyways ^^)

Yes, they're about 10-12k on my realm right now--it's a lowish pop server I think, at least on Horde side. They used to be ~20k. I'm going to put it up for a ridiculous price for awhile, and if it sells I'll be happy, if it doesn't, I may learn it

I was lucky and got mine in classic as a birthday gift from a friend. She never told me how much she paid but only that she got an amazing deal. know back then they used to go for around 500G, which is nothing compared to what they go for today.

Yeah, I STILL haven't decided

I'm actually beginning to gather together the gold for the Crimson Deathcharger. I'll leave the Macaw on the AH for 20k gold (it sells for around half that on my realm) until I'm close to done with the money collecting. Then I will decide if I want to learn it, or sell it to make up the rest.

Hehe...I bought mine for...10g. And gave it to my druid alt so I would have an incentive to play her. And this was so long ago that nobody even knew where it dropped, let alone how rare it was. Most people said I paid too much.

Now I need one for myself lol.

Wow, what a find! Keep it Acherontia! You can always farm gold for your Deathcharger, but a find like a cheap Hyacinth Macaw only comes up once in a while. You're almost as lucky as if you'd found it in Stranglethorn yourself!
