I’ve helped my friend Ishotit's husband with taming Ashtail, Skoll and Sambas
So, figured since she leveled her hunter to 85 I'd give it a shot and get them both a rare. She told me the only pet she really really wanted was Loque'Nahak, and has been after him for ages. Now, at this time I was also on the frostbitten achivment, but made her a promise that if she was on and he was up I would not touch him. I'm a hunter first and an achievement junkie second.A few days passed with us using teamwork circling the basin with no sign of the spirit beast. I did however come across King Krush and Aotona within 30min of each other. No hunter in the area (besides Ishotit and myself, and Ishotit not wanting to tame) so I sadly slayed the beasts. Broke my heart both times. Later the following day Ishotit tamed Aotona on a whim and ended up liking her new parrot
Later that week, I crossed King Krush again and Ishotit logged on that moment I did! So she decided why not and came and met me to tame the King That was one angry Dino... he beat me down into half my health before he decided to put his agro onto my Madexx o_o; However he's now happy running with Ishotit. Now, this is where it got troublesome.
She had to fly off to restable her new Krush having no room or pet to abandon if Loque where to show himself. She off she flew and stabled her pet.. on her way back... NPCscan blares for me... it's Loque. I freak out, and was barely able to type : OMG LOQUE!
I tagged him, and my Rak'Shiri angrily attacked him - I quick threw him on passive but Rak got a hit off him, so Loque was at half health. I slowy backed up, trying to pull Loque'Nahak from his spawning zone knowing there were other players in the area. I just managed to get him out of his zone and start a chain freeze when I spot a Troll hunter flying past... and then he backed up.
He landed infront of me and my frozen spirit beast - Ishotit was so close! I /beg /beg many times, but the troll just stands there. He then procedes forward and drops a freeze trap on Loque. I'm a bit confused at this point but /thank him.
That's when I noticed him dismiss his pet and start trying to tame. Loque's full rage was focused on me though the ice and the troll's charms were unsucesfull. I called to my friend to hurry, but she was right next to me. I inform her I'm going to reset agro (she couldn't tame either) and to be quick on the draw... and that's when I heard a gunshot... and Loque's body collasped next to me.
Both Ishotit and I felt physically sick for a few moments. Loque was dead, right infront of us, after so much time. I got my kill for the achivment I was after, but that was not how I wanted it... I didn't even want to hunt anymore for the rares. The Troll took off and Ishotit and I said we would both return in six hours time to start the hunt once more.
No luck...
The search went on for days later with nothing in the basin at all. I swear the kill of that cat frightened the rares away.
