Oh no!
So, I logged on this morning to find myself in a strange place where i didn't log off, naked and with half health. Now, in real life this would only mean that I must have had a GREAT night, but in WoW this can only mean one thing: I got hacked over night. Since then, my items have been restored and the guild bank has all its stuff back, but I am still missing two very important things to me: King Krush and Sambas. They were (thankfully) the only two pets that got released, but that is simply a malicious and heartless thing to do. They were worth no money, no anything, so why would they do that? I'm trying to get blizzard to restore them, with no luck so far...

Re: Oh no!
Just keep trying. If they say ''Sorry, no can do.'' try again and hope for a better GM.

Re: Oh no!
What Saturo said - regardless of what some GMs say, your pets can be restored. I had my Aotona restored and I didn't even have an amazing reason as to why I couldn't just get her again. Just keep trying, and you'll get a nice GM at some point!

Went to easter mass, and when I got back I had my beautiful pets waiting for me! Yay! Have an authenticator on order so this will never happen again.
Re: Oh no!
Glad you got your babies back! I've been lucky on the hacking thing, and now hubby makes me use an authenticator. Worth its numbers in gold it is.

Wow.
I've been seeing/hearing a lot of people getting hacked lately.
i actually witnessed TWO of my friends being hacked. thankfully we had known both of their passwords so we were able to kick the hacker off before any information or anything was changed, but not before some things were taken. (the first time we FREAKEd and thought our friend was just ignoring us ><)
i'm sorry that you had this happen to you, but i'm so happy that you got your babies back!
; n ; i hope people stop getting hacked, it's getting out of control.

Re: Oh no!
Hackers are -extremely- heartless...when I was hacked, these guys even went through my characters keyrings to sell back keys for a measly couple of silver and copper. First thing I did though when I was able to re-log back onto my account was checked my pets. (Which had been left alone), and then my "collection" of shit in my Main's bank (Old items I'd won from raids, Hunter sets from old Tiers, my collection of bows and crossbows from different raids...) and that had been completely wiped clean...I was pretty heartbroken about it. Thankfully I had an extremely understanding GM help me re-get everything back out of my old collection. (Which I am sure had to be annoying with as much stuff as I horde.)
I also had 10 level 80's at the time. Those all had been wiped clean as well. (Keyrings and all). Since they were unable to give me back all my badges and what-not, or even calculate how much gold I'd had lost they gave each of my characters a "care" package. With about 5k gold in each package. I was suddenly richer then I'd EVER been in WoW. lol.
I bought 4 of my characters their Epic flying, and another character that wasnt mine epic flying. And still had a good bit of gold left over that I used to grab some of the mounts my Main didnt have yet. So, even though I was so depressed for about a week straight, I ended up well taken care of.
Sadly Ive also had to watch a few of my friends being hacked as well...an old friend who quit WoW for a few months to go to school, we sadly had to watch his character walk back and forth from the bank to a vendor naked...was just painful.

Re: Oh no!
My mom got hacked twice within a month period. After we cleaned out her computer, there was still nastiness hiding in some program that everything had missed. (She's also had Spyware eat her computer. That's when you get when you have kids using it.) The second time, they didn't want to give her stuff back, and it wasn't until several complaints that they gave in and restored her stuff. She's got an authenticator now.
I myself have never been hacked (My character was on my dad's account and with maybe...4 gold to her name and level 40ish? xD) and now, with my own account, remain safe with an authenticator.
Fun fact: You can have multiple accounts under one Authenticator. It's what my mom and dad do.

Re: Oh no!
Actually, they changed that recently. We had 2 accounts under the same authenticator, and after awhile we had to get them resynched because we didn't play for about 6 months. We were able to get "grandfathered" in to one authenticator because it was already in the system, but once we took it off his account we couldn't put it back. One authenticator per account is the rule now.Azunara wrote:Fun fact: You can have multiple accounts under one Authenticator. It's what my mom and dad do.
