To be fair, calling anyone who disagrees with you a troll/idiot and only bothering to nitpick the points that you find easiest to "debate" against and ignoring the really good points made against you is negative and should be dropped and people should move on.

I didn't ignore it. I acknowledged it, quite fully. But the way it was worded towards me could've been FAR less hostile. I shouldn't have to fear posting here. Infact, no one should and I know for a fact I'm not the only one here that feels that way because of the way people have come across with there 'arguments against the OP'. That post was a perfect example of it. That's all I'm going to say on it but I'm probably gonna get poked and prodded some more like a caged animal cause I don't want to say more on it.

The OP can call for a lock on the thread if they wish. It's their thread that they started. It's not backseat modding. I've seen threads in the past locked because the OP asked it to be. I doubt that's subject to change anytime soon. It's like that on most forums I've been on. It's not running the show. It's a single thread that the OP made.

I'm talking about before you called for a lock. You kind of ignored everyone that opposed you all up until you told them to stop, at which time it became people calling you on it.

Also, backseat moderating. People shouldn't be allowed to call for a lock on a thread simply because people are disagreeing with them. Nor should they be permitted to shout "STOP! LEAVE MY THREAD OR ELSE!" (paraphrasing there)

The people who run this forum do so for a reason, anyone else attempting to run the show is just struggling with control issues. And that leads to major hostility and negativity to boot.

If you intended any part of that at me, because I was saying people should calm down and just leave things be, then I'm sorry. I thought things were getting heated, I didn't like that, and stepped in and said "Hey, guys. Chill and let it be." Call it a character flaw, but I didn't think the whole tension there should've continued and I decided to say something.

If I'm mistaken and you didn't intend that at me, then alright. Carry on. You saw nothing.

I dont know if this is the correct place for this or if any of the mods will read this but its gotta be said. I like the forums but the sheer amount of bullying/hostility I'm seeing now a days is horrid.

OK, I'll stop you there. Are we talking about hostility, or are you really seeing bullying? If it's the latter, then you need to be using PMs and reporting posts so that you can name names without doing so publicly; this thread would not be the way to address bullying, because being vague and unspecific won't suffice.

Well, as an outsider (I only NORMALLY come here for the latest info on Hunter pets), I have seen an awful lot of the "passive/aggressive" thing going on here.

I've also seen a terrible use of blatant double standard - "I can do this, but you can't because you aren't in the clique".

This forum could have a LOT going for it.
But there's a veiled elitism here that is really off-putting.
I suspect that THAT is a large part of the cause of some of the flame wars that have recently erupted.
There's a very "defensive" attitude: "we were here first, you're a noob, you don't belong and shouldn't be expressing opinions".
