Yesterday or the day before, I found my eleventh camel statue. Irked, I simply didn't remove my cache this time. Previously, when I was literally camping Uldum, I would delete the creaturecache immediately--so that I could find the dud statues, and note the spawn timer and get out of Uldum for awhile. Recently, though, I've just taken to making passes through the zone every couple hours, checking every spawn point. I was tired of getting excited and then disappointed, so instead I just made a /target macro, so that when the statue finally popped one last time, I'd know it was the REAL THING--but still pick up the duds with /target so that I knew when to leave & when to return.
Now, as some of you may know, the camel statue will become untargetable probably TOMORROW, as well as providing a title and thus probably more competition. I was pretty sure I was never going to see one, since after all I've been looking for months and not found one yet!
But, today's apparently my lucky camel day. NPC-scan went off at the Schottz landing seaside, and a camel awaited me in the little wooden wagons there. My heart stopped, seriously. I said "THIS IS THE ONE!" and landed, cast around for a bit before I found it, and clicked... and it said "You are out of range" and turned into dust. For a second, I was panicked, as the "You are out of range" has always been the "ugh, another failure..." disappointing crash-moment. But, I was then enveloped in a tornado, and dropped from quite a height into the Steam Pools' lakes.
The climb and run from the water to Dormus, visible from mid-lake on the shore, seemed to take weeks. I nuked him fast and looted that camel with a big grin on my face!

So! Thanks once again Vephriel for the lucky charm; I'll pass it back into rotation for the next hopefully-lucky camel-hoarder!
And yey! Camel!
