Petopia group on dA?

I was too lazy to create the group and just forgot about it making it, I dont I could EVER control a big group like that anyways and the random requests to join if they weren't petopian, I honestly hate saying no : /

I don't see what's so bad about the idea of things other than Hunter stuff in the group. We Petopians are interesting a lot of things other than WoW, such as the Pokemon RP (Which, by the way, is definitely the most popular of the two RPs <3), and since it's a group for US, the members of the forums, I'd say it's fair to say that there should be folders in the gallery for the others things besides Hunters we Petopians like, meaning Pokemon RP, WoW RP, WoW general, mini-pets, mounts, things inspired by Off-Topic chat, and that sort of thing. This group is a group for this community, not one for Hunters in general, so it should be welcoming of all the things the community likes, not JUST the Hunter stuff.

Eh, if it's that large a problem, I can see this being the Petopian Hunter aspect, and Senna, you can start a related group that's just the Petopian not-hunter-only content. Don't see the matter with that.

*Grumbles* Like I said, I don't see what the big problem about this is. To be honest, it's a perfectly good point, saying that we Petopians are interested in much more things than just Hunters, and as a community.. It's not JUST Hunters and pets that keeps us all together. Heck, it's what causes the biggest arguments. I think it's perfectly reasonable to reflect the fact that the community isn't JUST about Hunters in the group. And there's no real point in making a group for the other stuff when we can just include it in the main group.

As I said, you are welcome to talk about other things while in the group. There is no restriction on what you talk about. However, for submissions, the majority seems to prefer that we keep it strictly WoW related.

Senna, I understand why you want what you do, but if we include all the things that you would like then the group loses its Warcraft aspect and simply becomes a group of random things that we all like, which is not what this is about. As has been said before, there are plenty of groups out there that you are welcome to join that have to do with those things. But the majority says no, and the majority rules.

I will also have to agree with the majority that things should appear as they do in game. Which means there probably won't be an anthros of the pets

Anyone is welcome to make another group to be affiliated with this one which encompasses any of the things that will not be in this group, but these things will not be included in this group unless majority vote changes later on.

I'm sorry for those of you who are disappointed by this, but please remember that in any decision there is always someone who does not get their way or is unhappy. This is not an exception.

http://warcrafthunters.deviantart.com/ is just the hunters one and http://wow-petopia.deviantart.com/ is the petopia one! The name "Petopia" was taken already by a user, so I took the name from our site itself!

Any help with either of the groups would be much appreciated! I have to go and buy some tubs for packing up my dorm room now, but I'll see you all when I get back!

Senna, as I have said before, you are still welcome to talk about these things with others members. But dA is an art based community, and having art which is not relevant to the focus of the group is both confusing and a challenge to keep up with. Those things would quickly overwhelm the rest of the art, the art that is relevant to the group. I would ask that you take your own advice and try to be open-minded about this yourself. Again, there will always be someone who doesn't get what they want, and in this case it's you. That doesn't change the fact that we are still a community of people with similar interests. It doesn't change what brought us all together. And the dA group for petopia is about what brought us all together. dA doesn't work like forums, you can't have folders of other things without overwhelming everything else.

Hmm on secound thougt this is stupid. 90% of my WoW art is not solely hunter related and if I can't post most of my art than theres no point in me doing this. I was under the impresstion it was for the petopian community and not just "hunter pets". I guess I was wrong.

I think some people are getting a little too hostile over what is a completely sensible group idea.

As Aeladrine stated earlier, she wanted to make a Hunter focused group. She even made the offer that people could go and create offshoot groups to preserve their little community niches (RP, Pokemon, etc) and have them linked all together, but this main one is, quite reasonably, Hunter related. Makes sense to me, that is the major purpose of Petopia in the first place, and it has every right to be the core identity.

As with even these forums there are different indexes and areas for posting, "patch info","taming stories","off topic". This DA page has been set up by Aeladrine. It's her choice to pick the Hunter & Pets only theme if she chooses, as I guess Petopia is mainly hunter related due to it being about all our lovely pets. (not necessarily the forums however) And yes it's your choice not to join the page either if you don't feel like it.

If however, you find that your artwork does not seem to it into this DA page due to it's category, why don't you start a "Petopian Community" page yourself then?

You can add what ever you like and can encourage those whom don't fit into the "Hunter & Pets" category, and are apart of these forums, to place their art work there too if they also wish to submit things that don't relate to the Hunter & Pets Theme. It could be anything you want it to be.

You can make your own groups ok they take a lil' while to be active from DA but they are no hassle to start up
If you like Cowmuuu~ I could start one up with you as Spiritbinder said call it 'PetopiaCommunity'. Where anything related to the forums can be posted, and no before anyone rages it will be rated teen :p Nothing with naked detail to put it ... And DA does have a Mature Warning if you feel your art isn't ment for young eyes ... SO when you think about it ... If we did put warnings on them and kids still looked .... Not actully the groups falut since they were warned!?
As for Anthros and Furries ... Its still art? Just don't have them naked or anything and have a good design to them Im sure no one will mind ... Im not into that myself but I still love seeing teh designs people come up with when making characters ... Aslong as they are covered up why complain ... All Im saying.
And if we did make a PetopiaCommunity, and create the correct folders ... Anything within reason could be submited ... AGAIN I know Im sounding like a broken record but I swear sometimes people just don't read >.> NOTHING NAKED! We are all mature enough to get certain 'aldut' jokes ... We shouldn't treat everyone like innocent lil' children ... Cas they are not .... And again DA allows you to put up warnings on anything you feel is mature .. I think I myself have a mature warning on something due to over-sized breast which are covered ... :/

That is more a Petopia Forum Theme which would suit a PetopiaCommunity since its more forum based.

I didn't know making a group had to be so complicated. Just remember if you make lots of groups similar to each other, some are going to get few watchers while the others boom, it's inevitable. But for those who have made groups/plan on making groups, feel free to send an affiliate request to Warcraft-Zookeepers.deviantart.com, as we're happy to affiliate with any WoW or fantasy related groups. Like I said, this group focuses on hunters and their pets, as well as mini pets and mounts, and it's been active for around a year or so.

And please remember, were all artists here, so respect each other and respect each other's art, even if you personally don't like the genre/etc. Not saying that to anyone in particular, I just think its important for artists and art lovers alike to stick together! (:
