Gotta tame 'em all, spirit beast edition(and rare beauties)

hey guys, I just joined this forum and I thought why not introduce myself with a taming story.

Arcturis
I dinged 74 on my hunter and I was in Grizzly Hills at the time so I thought why not.
I camped the spawn point for 6 hours, with on and off company of a blood elf hunter. I logged of for about 45 mins to watch some tv and when I logged back on, Arcturis was right in front of me
The blood elf hunter was still there, but she was afk so I quickly tamed him. A couple of mins after the tame she was back, /cry never felt so good

Loque'nahak
Currently camping for this one, almost a day in, no luck yet but I guess the wait is worth it
EDIT: just tamed it, the western most spawnpoint, with competition from 2 hordies
now to lvl to 77 and get my next target, Gondria

Gondria
Gondria wasn't that hard to tame, I think I got this baby after an hour orso, well off to Skoll

Skoll
Dinged 80 tday at about 5 pm, tamed Skoll at 10 pm
Got all the Northrend rares in 1 week, talk about luck

Next up, the elusive Terrorpene

Last night, at about 10 past 10 in the evening I tamed Terrorpene on my lvl 81 hunter.
Had a priest buddy heal me, tamed a core hound for the ancient hysteria, drank a resist pot and a haste pot and started taming
Now I got a new leveling buddy that I called Shelldon :3

Karoma
Found him the first 5 minutes in my camp for Sambas, flew over his spawnpoint and boom, there he was
Easiest one as of yet

Sambas
Camped 12 hrs for this beauty the first day and today, before I went to school I did a lil flyover and I found him

Next and last one I definitely want, Ghostcrawler

Got him in the first 5 minutes I was near his spawnzone, but when he disappeared I thought I lost him ^^

loque.... hes my pride took me 2 weeks to get him and i wouldnt imagine a day without him,
skoll i got causually looking for just before an ulduar run (i gave him away 12 times in WoLK all friends very happy hunters lol)
Karoma.... well i decided i wanted him first trip around and he was sitting right next to arena scratching his cheek eager to be tamed
articus... well i got lucky when i logged on whil leveling
ghost crawler i got not 5 minutes after i hit 85... i was curious what was out in abandoned reef
gondria i got on my way to ulduar (before i got skoll)

Loque'nahak: 8 hour camp, 6 hours of flying around in circles in Sholozar Basin. Not two minutes after the tame, a dwarf hunter who I had spotted camping a few spawn points came buy and couldn't stop /cry-ing on my shoulder. Sorry, man. I feel for ya.

Skoll: I'd been camping this guy off and on for about 3 weeks, when I finally found him! I was shocked because when I started the tame, I found him... sapped. Luckily, whatever rogue was hanging around decided to have mercy upon my poor hunter soul and not 1shot the wolf. Thank you, mystery rogue! <3

Gondria: Flew right over the ol' girl as I was going to camp for Skoll. How lucky.

Arcturis: Guess who I found as I was reading this thread? Arcturis!!! Just got him seconds ago. Same as Skoll- on and off camping. Minus the sapping.

Loque'Nahak: One of my longest camps. I had been camping this magestic beast on and off for about two months. Late one night I started circling the Scholozar Basin, pausing momentarially at his spawn points. At one spawn point, one of the Eastern ones, a Troll hunter began to path along with me. Normally I'd not be too bothered (other then the 'oh no another hunter' feel) but this hunter was kind enough to 'shoo', 'no', and 'spit' toward me, thus only pushing me more into the maddness of finding Loque. Two in the morning rolled around, and to keep from falling asleep from fatique I was 'playing' with near by mobs as I passed over. Reaching the avelange I dove a little too low and was knocked clear off my drake, and demolished by undead. Needless to say after that the troll hunter that circled near me 'laughed' and left. I resed when I had a clear area to call my drake and took off. Fatique was winning, and I had enough that night after that. So a final circle and paused, started to type /logout and looked down... and there he was... Loque! (No npc scan alert, silver dragon.. nothing, just pure luck) I dive bombed the beast, and started to tame... then Rak'shiri leapt at him and started to attack! Oh no! I quickly dismissed him, feigned, and called into my stables, pulled out a Zul'drak Hound that remained unnamed and let this beast free. Forgetting to freeze trap, I started to tame again, and the moment I did an angry Hard Knuckle gorialla attacked with his buddy... oh joy. The seconds of my tame were dwinding just as low as my health and.. a flash of gold! Loque I got him! He began to attack the gorillas and together we took them out. I had woke up my poor boyfriend int he delighted squeels that persisted.. my favorite spirit beast was mine!

Skoll: Upon the expansion of our stables, I found it necessery to hunt the electric wolf Skoll. Every time I saw him tamed he drawed my attation to the point I found myself following the other hunter around the city, just to be next to such a amazing beast. So the camp for skoll began. A few days passed with not a single sighting of the wolf, and I had been on for hours never leaving Stormpeaks, from early hours at 6am, to 2am.. nothing. So, one morning I was up at 4am and did a search. Two blood elf rogues were sitting near one of Skolls spawn points camping the Time Lost Drake (or so that's what I think) We /waved, /danced and wished each other /luck. This whole time I had no pet to accompny me so figured they knew what I was after. After a few moments, left them to do a check.. nothing. Came circling back around and NPCscan goes off! I nearly jump out of my seat because there he is! But, his health is going now... no! He died right as I landed and the two rogues stood there over his corspe. I /cry, one blood elf /laughed, and the other said nothing. So I dced there. Two nights passed after that, and saw nothing. It wasn't until a very realistic feeling dream woke me before work.. I oddly and unknownly followed the exact routine that was in my dream.. so had to take the final step and that was to check for Skoll. 8:30am.. 10min before I had to leave for work. Did a loop.. and AWWWOOOOGA! Skoll! Alive! I dove down, forgot to freeze trap again and tamed this amazing wolf! It made for one heck of a good day! (Managed to tame King Krush later that night to :3 )

Karoma: When they announced the new spirit beast was going to have the old ghost wolf model I just had to find her. I pushed and pushed to get to 85 (stopping only a day or so to camp a rare.. which all I got at their appropite levels). The night I dinged 85, I started circling for both Sambas and Karoma, careful not to miss a spawn location. 30min into 85 and NPC scan nearly makes me fall out of my chair.. Karoma! Targeted her.. and she disappered -gasp- Circled around the location.. taget! Gone... Target! Few straight down and couldn't see her... so I sent my pet after her and set a frost trap down. Rak'shiri tore after her, over a hill - the moment he hit her once I put him on passive and he came running back to me dragging Karoma behind :3 She hit the frost trap, so I dismissed my loyal cat and tamed this amazing wolf

Gondria: Decided I wanted her to be a 'spirtual' guide for my Rak'shiri (don't ask why ^.^' ) so went hunting for her for this reason. Took two nights, buy one morning before work checked her spawn points and nothing.. then wait.. I missed one. Looped around and Bam! There she was! Dove down and tamed her, and had a lovely new companion

Ghostcrawler: After hitting level 85 and getting Karoma, I decided to go and get Jadefang. Got her, but that's another story. Decided 'oh what the heck' I'll go look to see if that crab is up. Went down to the Abyssal Depts and sure enough.. there he was, just minding his own business. I didn't want him or anything, so asked my guild if anyone wanted to tame him. Nobody...so, did a /who. Only one hunter in the area, and they were only level 81. Checked my friends.. only one person wants him but they just hit level 84. So, I decided why not.. and tamed him.. after a few near deaths that is ^^;

Arcturis: I took up the habit of checking Northerend rares and rehoming 'lots' of rares this way. The only one I hadn't seen was good ol' Archy Bear. I was doing my regular rounds, and rehomed a Gondria which the hunter was really happy. Few toward where Archy was.. and sure enough bam! He was right there! Asked the hunter if they wanted him and they said no thanks. Again checked the friends, guild and who... nobody.. so tamed him and completed all the spirit beast collection o.o;

It's not omfg the best top DPS, but you won't get chuckled out of a party either so.

That said, I guess here are my stories:

Loque: I was camping Aotona. I'd been at it for like 6 weeks. My heart was breaking. I had just missed Aotona by about an hour (d'oh!), but the kind huntress who got her showed me Loque when he spawned! I promptly tamed him and was very grateful. I do <3 my swirl kitty.

Karoma: Never tamed 'im myself, but I have gotten to rehome at least twice to very happy hunters. Maybe one of these days.

Arcturis: Rehomed twice! Only ever seen twice in the wild. Guess he's sneaky for a bear...

Gondria: One evening after someone had squished Aotona, I figured I'd at least wait out four hours so I parked for an evening or two. An 80 hunter kept insisting I go level because gosh, she was leaving to pvp or dungeon! But she never left. Yeah. I get it. Competition sucks, but c'mon. So about midnight, I see a giant purple kitty appear and nearly plowed my mount into the snow. KITTY.

GhostCrawler: Screenshots don't do him justice. Go meet this crab if you're not sure (in person). He has blue mist/sparkles, is nice and low profile. Bonus: clicky crab noises! He hits pretty hard though.

Just stumbled on to this forum as a newb, you guys and your luck is daunting. I have been camping Sambas for 2 days and still no love.
Found Gondria within 10 minutes of looking.

Must have just gotten lucky.

I can't speak for the PvE side of things, as I don't do much of that stuff. However, I've made it work pretty well in arenas, and well there are few things better than eating a clothie every minute and seventeen seconds.

... of course im not the biggest fan of him, i tamed him and hes never left my stables, there are too many dang cats in this game.
ive played NE since vanilla, ohh look my first pet dwarven area cat, never used another pet till wolk pretty much, ohh look my first mount nightsaber...
new cats more cats look at all the cat skins, ohh look what else horde get a unquie scorpid mount... and we get thats right.... cats.....

Don't get me wrong, I love my white core hound (modeled after omen) but my daughter loves the look of Sambas. So off I go to look again.

as it stands now, with an ilvl of 347, I do about 10k dps in heroics...
I think MM and SV do more but hey, if I enjoy BM why should I change

Im not much of a camper, and thats probably the reason the only rare i tamed was Nuramoc, which i named Nuramoc, while just doing my daily look around WoW for him, Loque'nahak, terropine, and madex(black). Now i just need the other 3 to complete my collection!

Here are some of mine.

The first major pet I hunted was Arcturis.
I had seen him once on my server and was infatuated.
I had no idea where he came from and his page was not complete on wowhead yet.
It took a few days to even figure out his name, and when I did I went to the spot and sat there.
My friend came to help me, he was flying around Grizzly Hills because we weren't sure if it was just one spawn point yet.
There was an 80 dk, and a 73 hunter hovering over me the entire time.
The dk would go back and forth barely out of range and circle above me.
6 hours went by and I was about to give up, and he spawned.
I was so flustered I couldn't remember what to do.
I landed and forgot about my pet I had on me, a polar bear named Nanook.
Normally I say goodbye to my pets before I abandon them, but I did not have the time.
I didn't even remember to frost trap or tag him first.
The hunter landed with me while I was taming and I just kept hoping that they'd realize they were too low to tame him (I was thrilled to see he was 74 as I was as well).
And luckily enough he had spawned JUST as the dk was patting back up the creek.
I finished the tame shaking I was so nervous, mounted up and started hollering toward my friend.
I landed and showed him and we squeed for a while. XD
I brought him to Thunder Bluff to think of a name.
I finally decided on Penumbra, a variance between light and dark.
To this day I have never seen him spawn again.

Most of my other rares were pure luck and accident..
Skoll, Loque, Krush, Maddex (though the only color I'd wanted had spawned when I did happen upon him) etc..

Happened upon them, or in the case of Loque, I was scouting his spawn for my bf.
I couldn't kill him, so I tamed him.
Kept him a secret, hence the name Clandestine.
We were able to get his right after he leveled.
(I had screenies of these pets as well, but my old comp died on me last May, so I lost them all. )

The only other pet that gave me that kind of rush was Terrorpene.
I leveled to 81 on the 9th and decided that I would camp him following server reset.
I stayed for a few hours with my bf in party on his pally for resistance to no avail.
12:45 PM or so the next day he spawned.
I called him and had him sign in and completely forgot my entire game plan, lol.
I had Chromaggus for the buff, was able to dismiss him.
I almost forgot my haste food, completely forgot my haste pot, and I stood in the lava the whole time..

I was able to nab him in a split second cast i seemed.
I barely took any damage at all.
After I settled down a bit I looked for a good name for him and decided on Kipuka, an area of land surrounded by lava flows.
Again, I got him his not too long after.
That Thursday he logged in to check the spawn at 1 AM and sure enough he was there.

I dinged 85 last Sunday night/Monday morning and was so excited to finally try for Sambas.
I had adored his model ever since I saw it introduced.
I'd already long thought of a name for him since he was an Alliance model, and I play horde.
I leveled at around 1:30.. 3 am my npc scanner goes off right as I'm making my way back to the lone spawnpoint.
I could KISS whoever made the new system that shows your target in your minimap cause I was completely turned around.
This time I didn't have a pet equipped, landed, and tamed with 3 other hunters in the area looking for him.
My bf had just gotten there because he was going to leave his dk above the lone area while i circled the other two spawnpoints.

I couldn't believe I'd gotten him so soon after leveling, I was overjoyed to finally have Benedict by my side.

I left my hunter in Twilight Highlands because I was going to do the questline to get a rather nice iLevel 333 staff and decided to check out Karoma.
I'd wanted a ghost wolf since I saw the originals.
I'd missed out on them so I'd always hoped for another chance.
It was around 8:30 AM last Tuesday and I got to the third spawnpoint and she was there.
I dismounted, abandoned my shale spider, and tamed her.

I also consider my shaman as my main so I named the wolf after her, Vendrula.

And later that day I was in the abyssal depths and came across ghostcrawler.
Though I was not interested in taming him, I didn't want to leave him out there alone.
My bf and I tried for 2 hours to find someone and finally a goblin hunter whispered him and I invited her to group.
I kept following the crab not knowing when it would despawn again so I could make it easier on her.
Just as she went to tame I got dc'd. >.<
But when I came back I saw her a little worse for the wear with a new pet.
She was very happy, and I'm glad he's not there all alone anymore.

And finally, Jadefang.
I had seen her before, but didn't have enough rep to get the quest even if it was available..
I've been grinding these quests since I was able and have only had the pebble quest once.
I logged in today to do my dailies again and she was there.
It was around 9:45 AM.
I kept trying disengage and other techniques to get to her to no avail.
Finally I decided to try the dc fly.
After the 15th time or so, I feigned death in mid air and landed on the platform.
I had made up my mind that I would get the mini pet first because I was very excited to hear that more ach pets were coming and I'm sitting at 109 right now.
Well that went out the window because I immediately abandoned my yellow shale spider, put down my trap and tamed her.

And here I sit, still waiting.
I came back at around 4 and had my sound on while I cooked and read and checked my email.
I'm hoping I get her soon.
I still have dailies to finish.

I'd always had wanted a ghost wolf.
So when I heard about Karmona I just had to camp for him.
I can't even remember how long I camped him The days just blurred together, maybe a week or so before I found him. My friend thought I was crazy as I sat there for hours on end, flying around when I got bored. But then two days later he announced he was going to look for Karmona too.
But I found Karmona before he did My heart almost stopped and I couldn't believe it, Karmona! Right there! Right in front of me! Of course I tamed and named him Karmona because his name was perfect already, he didn't need me giving him a new one.
