For me, to get my pets to work, I had to attempt to tame another beast before logging out to find the pet there, effect in tact. I guess it works differently for different people, but I'm pretty sure the guides give the method that I used.

The method I used was from the guide. ^^; Didn't say anything at the time of having to tame another pet.

I also can't get it to work on the diseased wolves in Elwynn. I've tried it dozens of times. I've tamed, spammed macro and tried to tame another but it just lets me tame another. Why doesn't it work for me?

Are the diseased wolves even one of the listed pets?

I didn't think so either, but the method I linked is the one that worked for me most recently.

They were listed as one of the confirmed pets on the one thread so I don't know. Does someone have an updated list?

Yeah, the diseased wolf is listed as confirmed on the second link. So still not sure why it won't work.

The only thing any of us can say is try try again until you get it. It took me almost an hour on both pets I tamed.

Oh I just tamed a diseased wolf a couple days ago in Elwynn Forest, so I know it works.
Something weird though, I got to glitch tame Princess first try, then after I accidentally killed her (oops), I must've tried taming her again like 20 times.
I went over to a diseased wolf, first try -.-
I went back to Princess again, 20 more tries, then I finally got her. >.<
I suggest just keep trying.

Sorry for double post >.>
You can't see it very well, it's a bad pic for this, but notice to the left of Rottie there is a green skull beginning to appear? It's from the poison glitch.

I just tried it again with the macro and it doesn't work for me. I tame, click the macro as the tame ends, the pet disappears. Then I try to tame another wolf and it lets me over and over.

I also tried the above method, but instead of trying to tame another I just logged out and that didn't work either. I really don't understand why it won't work for me.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I'm missing?

Are you killing the pet as you tame it? Have you tried the method I linked on the front page? The macro should only be getting used at the last two seconds of your tame, which should be coinciding with the mob's death.

I'm supposed to kill it?

The guide as I am reading it says:
1. Tame pet as you normally would
2. Spam macro as the tame is ending
3. Try to tame another pet and you get an error saying you already have a pet
4. Log out and when you log back in you will have your pet.

This is the method I've been trying.

I'm not sure how to tame and kill the pet at the same time. It doesn't die when I tame and use macro. The macro seems to just actually abandon it.

Far as I know the method is to kill the pet as you're taming it so that the tame and the kill happen at the same time. I could be wrong though. /shrug After all, I'm not the one who wrote the guides and it's probably better to ask those people.

I used the method I linked to get the Lone Hunter and it worked just fine.

Not sure how I would go about doing that.

If I kill it during tame it'll interrupt tame and I won't get it as a pet.
If the tame finishes then I can't kill him cause he's already a pet.

I'm not saying anyone's wrong, I just don't think I'm understanding what to do according to what the guide is saying.

We have DoTs that can be going while you are casting tame beast. I tamed Lone Hunter right at 41 and I shot him from range then dropped an immolation trap. It took me several tries to learn exactly how fast my tame beast cast would go off before I got it just right and hit the macro right at the 2 seconds left on tame mark.

Like I said, the idea is to tame the pet right as you kill it, and hit the macro right as the tame is about to go off. That's what keeps the effect.

The wolf I'm trying to tame is level 11 and my dots 1 shot him. I'm trying to see if I understand this right.

I kill it and press macro before I hit tame?
or
I hit tame, press macro when there's 2 sec left on the timer and kill it at the same time?
