After my daily Blue Proto-Drake run(still no luck :/) I flew over to Storm Peaks to tame one of these wolves.
I decided to name him Todd, since his colours reminded me of Johnny Depp's Sweeney Todd hair ^^
And what better way to test this new pet than in a heroic, so I queued up and got Throne of the Tides
After a while I noticed my dps had dropped with about 1-2k, and I didn't know what I was doing wrong
I switched back to my usual pet, being Ghostcrawler(named Sweeney :3) and my dps was back up a notch.
I don't know if there's a difference between wolves and spirit beasts but that was a bit surprising
I like the skin he has and would like to use him but after that experience, I switched back to my Sweeney.
You did spend his talent points, right? O_o probably but just checkin'.
Yeah, I originally had Ghostcrawler's talents spent as a 'tanking', survival pet, and Loque for my DPS pet, but the thing was, Ghostcrawler kept dieing, and Loque didn't do very good DPS, so I switched the talents around and suddenly Ghostcrawler was boosted into awesome DPS and Loque could survive a feral druid fight by himself (I'm not kidding, he did a 1 on 1 with a druid fighting him that didn't heal himself and won).
Name: Donachan
Level: 73
Exotics: Sure.
Restrictions: Nothing I already have, obv. Other than that, nothing I can really think of! If it is a rare, however, could I also get a secondary option incase I don't have the time to hunt for it?
The rares from BC or later will be automatically excluded, and if you're rolled any (easier to get) unique rares, you'll be given a second option.
But, I can tell you now that there will be no guarantee that the pet you are rolled isn't already a member of your stables. Unfortunately, the random process used isn't very flexible when it comes to cherry-picking restrictions. It's set up to make more 'universal' restrictions such as level and exotics easy to handle, and even restricting entire pet families is easy. The exclusion of some rares are built-in as well. But, having to go through a spreadsheet and remove individual pets for each roll made is really time-consuming.
So, if you do get rolled a pet that you already have, then take it as an opportunity to tel us about your pet, and why you have said pet in your stables. In fact, since I highly doubt that your pets get equal attention, it will be a chance for you to spend some time working with a particular pet that may be going unused right now. Besides, the number of pets out there dwarfs the size of your hunter's stables, and you are free to try this as many times as you like (TygerDarkstorm probably holds the record on the number of pet challenges done, but no one's been keeping tally).
AKA Nazthandol, in <Petopians> (US)
Cute doesn't need an explanation.

Oops, I thought I'd edited my post to get rid of that. Sorry! Obviously I spaced and forgot.
I totally understand and am more than willing to give you guys entirely too much information on my pets if one of the ones I already have does come up.
Definitely still excited to do this! And thanks for the info! c:

I'm sad to say that that's probably true. XD
And after doing so many of the same pets over and over, I finally got burnt out. That's RNG for ya.

Might be a while before my report shows up. I have plan, but my computer isn't working now and I'm having to use my mom's, which will not work for my plan.
Part one of my report. Part two will come... eventually. Comic here, linked due to size.
Will figure out how to make the comic just show soon.
I'll admit, I'm not really looking forward to this. It's true that Dona's first pet was a bear and she has a diseased wolf who she loves, but white bears have never appealed to me and the diseased ones are no exception. Actually, except for Shiota, bears in general have never appealed to me. I'll have to make sure to take plenty of notes so the comic comes out alright. Should probably type these notes up.
Still thinking about this, though I haven't had a chance to work on it. Still not feeling too comfortable about taming a diseased bear, but maybe I'll change my mind about it once I have it standing beside me, protecting and defending. I hear bears make good tanks. Maybe this will draw me away from my ferocity pets. It's been a long time since I've used any other sort of pet. Gwyn and Eirwyn have been my primary companions for so long, I don't know how they'll feel about all this.
This does remind me, however, that I must release the pets who sit alone in the stable. It's unfair to them.
Sorry it's so huge, but I though doing it in this format might be cool!
so my challenge was the yellow/green corehound
I looked forward to this challenge, since I like the core hounds, the drippyness and such
I tamed the quest mob from Badlands and took him for a testdrive(named him smelly)
He did great work in the following hc's, wasn't surprised of that fact. only problem with him is his skin, I preferred the redish skin but that looked to generic to me
So I went on the core hound section of Petopia and found out Chromaggus was tameable, so I went with him instead
And smelly, well, he's chilling in the stables
I don't think I'm going to be up to finishing that other comic (if I do, it'll get posted here right away!), so here's the rest of my report:
Almost immediatly after I tamed Flutter I dinged 74. I was about to give up this challenge right then and dump him for Arcturis. But I figured that I could use some company while I camped and, as much as I love Gwyn and Eirwyn, they're with me so much that sometimes I tend to just get irritated with them. So I kept Flutter out, hoping his smelly behind would tempt Arcturis out of hiding. And let me tell you, it didn't.
I kept him out for the entire first 13hr camp. At one point I literally started banging my head against my desk because I hated his model so much. Of course, I promptly got ganked when I did that. And let me tell you, dshfsdkhfsjkfh his butt is so big it gets in the way all the time. I actually had to stop camping for half an hour to go and buy a glyph of lesser proportion because, even though I was way zoomed out, his butt was still in the way. Once I did that, though, I slowly started to like him. I still yelled at him and teased him, but I could feel the stirrings of affection, to which I said hell no.
Somehow that stupid bear got a personality, and now I can't shake the dope. He's in the stable for now, because I'm keeping a spot open for Loque once I hit 76 and because Gwyn and Eirwyn never leave my side and Tariq is so new I need some time to play with him, but at some point I think he's going to become a permanent addition to my party. Which is a bad thing, because I'm gonna want some other pets to be around me all the time, not some smelly old rotting bear. But he's wormed his way into my heart, somehow.
I took plenty of pictures, but they all came out horribly, so I won't be showing them. Perhaps, if I ever finish that comic, I'll post them.
Before I forget, the important things. His model is horrible, I hate it forever. He runs like a friggin tard and fights like a bear. He can take things down that are a level or two higher than him without any help no problem. He makes no sounds that I noticed, but this might just be that he's not as vocal as Gwyn, my ghostsaber. By all accounts, I should hate this pet as I'm not fond of tenacity pets to begin with and am especially not fond of bears, but I'll be keeping him. Stupid thing has made me fond of him.
Pick one up if you dare, but prepared to feel your poor, corrupted, dead, chill, uncaring heart stir for this stupid creature.
