Fire raven lord mounts! AKA FLAMING ANZU!

Ground mount that is a recolored Anzu with a fancy particle = rare drop. It's probably Fandral Staghelm loot, or that raven monster boss; 10 is green, 25 is red, and heroic 10/25 is purple. That's my theory.

... but Anzu himself is just a reskinned raptor, so its a reskined reskin, its like we never left the start...

I personally really like them. I don't give a damn if it uses the same model as the old Anzu, because it doesn't lessen the value of the old Raven Lord for me (They quite specifically said it'd be a "flaming Anzu" in the previous blue post, so we knew it was coming). Just waiting to see where these beauties drop.

I feel the same way, I love original Anzu, and one of my officers did the runs with me after he finished leveling his druid alt until the mount dropped, BEFORE they nerfed it and anyone could get him. If anything at all devalued this model, it was the unlocking of the boss to anyone. I don't even ride mine anymore because it went from 'omg rare' to 'omg is this the PTR?' in a matter of one day after the change. I was sick of seeing the mount I pined over since the first time I saw it. Not that I am trying to be elitist about it or say no one else should have my precious rare mount- I have plenty more 'special snowflake' mounts I could flash about on if I was that much of a baby... it is just so commonplace now (at least on my server), that it feels like a standard mount

Upon seeing the pictures/movie of him, I have to say he's neat. I prefer the purple out of the three, but I still think I prefer my Anzu best of all :B But that might be because he was -the- mount I pined for for so long.

But hey, if they're a rep grind or a non-raid thing, I won't complain!

Possibly. I'm thinking more red = rare drop for raid. The other 2 are Achievements for 10m version and 25m version. (Probably same with the firehawks since there's the same color scheme).



And to the whole 'lazy blizzard' thing.

Do we always have to call them lazy? XD I mean, maybe the Raven Lord was a perfect ground mount to use for having a fiery bird. They don't have to make 6000 completely unique mount skeletons if they already have a perfect mount skeleton they can use.

I remember people moaning about Anzu back in the day, and calling Blizzard lazy for using the same skeleton for it as the raptor mount. Man, will we ever be happy about anything.

If it's going to be a rare drop, I could see it dropping different colors on hc/normal, but not too sure if Blizzard would use different colors to separate 10/25. =/

The new mount seems kinda...plain I guess, compared to Anzu. Probably cause Anzu has black and blue feathers so it seems to have more to him I guess.

It'll be odd for these to be raid achi mounts I think...aren't all raid achi mounts thus far all flyers? I think maybe either a rare drop or rep vendor.

As far as we know, the fire birds are going to be the achievement mounts (and not flaming Anzu). I'd prefer the ground mount to be an achievement based drop (like OS3D) instead of a rare (Ashes of Alar).

Well this is obviously an error on Blizzard's part.

See, one of their developers is a goblin. He was doing some goblin like things while riding his Ravenlord. Ya know, like ya do.

And, after several small explosions, a few big ones, and a storm of fire, his mount ran out without him.

It was caught on camera, and the rest is history.

Rusted/Ironbound were different colored for the dif 10/25 man achievements for Ulduar. Black/Plagued Protodrakes for Naxx 10/25. Then the two dif frostwyrms (I can't remember the names) XD


Though one of them probably will be a ground mount reward of some sort. That.. way you look cool idling in stormwind/orgrimmar or when you actually do TB dailies right? XD

Idk, I rarely use my ground mounts anymore sadly. My Sandstone Drake/Twilight Drake cover my needs.

As far as I have understood, Bliz doesn't plan to go that road again, since there's no difference between the 10/25 drake achievements in Cataclysm. Hence why I'm a bit confused how they'd implement them, unless they want to go back to separating 10 and 25 man like in Wrath (which I at the moment really don't see happening, but I could be wrong).

Well,I could think of the green and yellow flameanzus be drops from 10/25 man with some kind of extra twist mechanic, like OS with 3 drakes up. The collour shemes on the drakes that drop were diferent, but the mechanics was the same for both.
The purple one could perhaps be some sort of guildraid achivement? Since we´ve already got a purple phoenix (Dark Phoenix) as a guild reward for cleaning out the current raids.

And about the reskinning thing; I don´t care at all about it. I luve my anzu and my raptors and all my other mounts who got at least a dussin reskins and so on. <3
