Why Did You Roll A...
Re: Why Did You Roll A...
Why a Hunter? Because I *always* play archers in these kinds of games. I've flirted with tanking, but ranged DPS (and preferrably ranged *physical* DPS) is what I do best.
Why a dwarf? Well, I was joining an alliance guild, so my choice was dwarf, elf, or Draenei. I wanted something more traditional than Draenei for my first character, and night elf hunters are so common they're practically part of the scenery. So I ended up with a gun-slinging dwarf.
Why a *female* dwarf? Well, at the time I think there were something like four on the server, so I figured 'why not.' As it turns out I'm not that fond of the male dwarf voices anyway.

Re: Why Did You Roll A...
Time for a few stories:
Snope (female Goblin Hunter): She started out as a Blood Elf Hunter. I created one because I wanted to RP a character that was ironically tough for her race. But later on, I decided to transfer her to another server and I decided that I didn't want her to be a Blood Elf anymore. Thus, she became a female Goblin. Why? Because female Goblins are arguably some of the most adorable beings in the Horde.
She's a hunter because I've been a Hunter from the very beginning. My first level 60 in Vanilla was a Night Elf Hunter.
Bartraz (male Troll Shaman): I had played an Enhancement Shaman on a private server once and enjoyed the experience. So when my friend decided to start a Tauren Warrior on another server, I decided to roll a Troll Shaman. That, and Shamans can also heal.
Inverse (female Undead Warrior): My very first character, Inverse was once a female Gnome Warrior. Why? Because a little girl running around with heavy weapons and plate goggles sounded pretty awesome to me. I then found myself giving her a race change since my brother was on the Horde side and my friend was turning toward the Horde. I chose to race change to a female Forsaken because they freaking flip while they're attacking enemies with 1-handed weapons. Add in plate armor for extra improbability (as well as extra awesome.)
Nekthr (male Orc Death Knight): With a waifish Belf, a skinny Troll, and an Undead, I decided that I should make a character that's buff for a change. That, and the first generation of Death Knights sounded pretty cool.
Taebory (female Belf Warlock): I based her off of Ebony/Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Raven-Way from My Immortal. Female Blood Elves are kawaii and corrupted by demonic energy, Warlocks are "goffik" and "stanists," and female Blood Elf Warlocks are "so amazing and gothic and sexxy," just like Enony (supposedly.)
Emohoof (male Tauren Priest): I just wanna see what a huge Tauren looks like in Shadowform.

Re: Why Did You Roll A...
phew so many characters now days, but i started first with a tauren shaman, as i liked the idea of the nature friendly cowpeople. I later learned to love trolls on a rp server, guess i tend to not want to be like everyone else, as on rp servers a lot are bloodelf. My first hunter was a female orc, named as you might have guessed Ardawen, but that is the name i use mostly for hunters with a few exceptions
.
I also love dwarven females as they are one of the few that are not very slim, i find most other races too slim.

Re: Why Did You Roll A...
My very first toon was a Draenei because I wanted an Alliance Mage & their racial went well with that concept. Plus I liked their look. I still like Draenei a lot and may roll another one at some point but I went Horde to join Petopians and haven't really looked at the Alliance since.
Horde-side, Belf. Not thrilled with their backstory but love the look; I find them pretty and feminine without being too egregiously sexualized. Trolls & Tauren have more interesting lore & I have alts of each but my belf Hunter is definitely my main & the one I love the best. She's pretty, animals love her, and she kicks ass, what more do you want?
I've been using the name Raederle or variations thereof as my main character name; she's the primary female character in Patricia A. McKillip's "The Riddle-Master Trilogy", a series I have loved since I read it as a teenager.
