What pets should I tame?

I like rares both old world/NR/Cata

Also pets with unique skins...

basically anything that is an eye turner that makes anther other hunter or non hunter say "WOW! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!"

I dunno about other servers, but I chuckle a bit everytime I see someone running around with ghostcrawler.
There aren't much BM hunters around and even for those that do they usually choose to bring around Loque or Skoll.

Olm and the oil-stained fledgling are pretty sweet too in that regard since very few people run around with a bird of prey.

The red lynx model from BE newbie zone is probably another 'famous' under-used model (not surprised given the sheer amount of cat models we can choose from)

As for tanking pets, both Terrorpene (the model looks so stunning that it is still great even with so many people having it) and the burning boar will surely get a lot of attention.

I get a lot of questions about my ghost boar who is a darn sight rarer than the flaming one, but otherwise I don't really get a lot of people asking about my pets since the 'rare' ones are often the most common.

I say save your slots for something that clicks with you. ;P Bunch of new pets coming up in the next patch, after all, and hydras somewhere in the vague future.

Especially my lovely condor. Back in the Wrath days people would whisper me about her constantly. Now not as much. The tallstrider and white fox still get me whispers, probably since neither skin is used that much.

believe it or not, be still ask me where i got the silithid collosus, The orange and the pink one are both crowd favorites, (sorry two blue guys)

the Murk Spitter in Sunken Temple is the only serpent with this rare skin

the Death Ravager is spawned from a cage on Azuremyst Isle


both of these npcs are tucked away in caves: in Netherwing Mines, Shadowmoon Valley and Mazthoril, Winterspring

Chromaggus. No other pet have made me so annoyed by "omg, where did you get that pet"'s as that one. He is awesome. x)

This are the skins I get asked the most:


Really uncommon, since most hunters go for Ashtail and/or the Tol Barad foxes

Two headed vultures, vultros, spiteflayer, bonepicker feeder get a lot of whispers, BUT

The angered akkaroa protector takes the cake, specially if you manage to tame it with the mist


It might not be the best pet out there, but it is a really uncommon skin, found only in shadowmoon valley in outland AND in the mountains.


If you are an ally, this is an uncommon pet, since most people can't seem to know where in outland are those.

And warp stalkers are not a common sight in any of it's skins save the white and blue green one, and even those are rare.

While I've never been asked where I've gotten him, I still consider my beetle to be an amazing pet, both aesthetically and utility-wise.
