It would be very cheap of Blizzard to copy an already existing pet look, when before all the spirit beasties have been unique in their own way.

Actually if this was a spirit beast it would be unique some what assuming that the particle glow on the wings stays intact when it hits live. No other pet model would has that.

That is not much of a change. It's just a sparkle effect.

Excuse my while I am reminded of that wanna be vamipre from Twilight and shudder in distaste.

Seriously though, all the spirit beasts have been something relatively new design-wise. A different color olm plus a sparkle effect (and good night I hope they dont keep those weird ear things on it) just doesn't seem up to par with the other spirit beasts.

I would love a bird spirit beast, I just really hope this isn't it.

I really like it too, though I'm not even sure if what's been depicted is accurate as the final model. WMV fails to display a lot of newer effects well. If we had WMV to go by we'd still think the fire turtle was going to be just rust brown with a few smoke effects.

I can understand that not everyone likes everything, but there's a big difference between admitting something isn't to your taste and picking it apart and belittling the artist's work to give the illusion that your opinion is somehow more informed. As Catbert said: “Cynicism is almost the same thing as experience.” I think we've all seen people who follow that strategy to appear cleverer.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.. he's got those elf ears going on so I'm willing to bet it's got something to do with a night elf npc/character. Also we've already got Olm. But hey, my guess is as good as others at this point!

While I think this model is very pretty and why many would love to have it as a pet.. personally I think we've filled our transparenty spirit beast model quota. I wish there would be more Loque/Skoll type of spirit beasts coming sometime in the future. (Maybe a solid colour bird SB? *hint hint*)

Edit: Oh! Forgot to mention that I did see a 'feral' or 'wild' version of that Fandral catform without any armor or such. Now THAT would be a kickass SB! I'm pretty sure Miyon and me aren't the only hunters that would be thrilled to get a Cataclysm themed Spirit Beast. It would be so awesome to have my Loque "Louhi" as my ice/winter theme pet and this new fire cat as.. well, a fire/summer theme pet!

No, this shouldn't be replaced. Just because you have one pet doesn't mean everyone else does

Plus, we know there are 8 rare pets in this one, so this is probably going to be one of the Regrowth ones

That is so strange--it's cool that it's a spirit beast after all, but wth is up with the night elf ears O.o It's visible on the video/screenshots I've seen of the creature on the PTR. I wonder if it's meant to be a night elf ...assistant? Or something? The name sounds a bit old-high-elfish as well.

Perhaps it's a long-dead druid still patrolling the area as a bird ghost.

Fjord Crows have had the elf ears forever, so I guess I'm used to seeing them on birds. :p
