Solix - Rare spider orange tame + strat *edit*

I swear i was going to log off hours ago but i kept looking for rares. I saw that there was another thread for solix already but its 3 pages of stuff about guessing how to tame. This is how to tame strat with pix.

he starts off here in the lava



I laid a frost trap down and went into cheetah aspect shot him with conc shot and ran my ass in a loop around the area hitting him with conc when it came off cooldown. the ice trap u see down is the first one i laid as i started to tame him before he got to my 2nd one



and tamed

I found solix again tonight on the PTR around 24 hours after last tame. I retamed him to hopefully show the strat i used better since some people had questions.

All that guesswork and all we needed was two frost traps? Good thinking and grats on the tame!

Is all the running necessary if we're marks and can just pop readiness for a second trap after he trips the first?

i only did one loop around that area before taming which all together was maybe 1 minute

might work i just kept running from him til his buff fell off. proly shoulda gotten a pic with the buff included it increases his movement speed and attackspeed looks like it fell off around 40 or so energy which might have been from the dazes or not being in the lava

sorry I'm not understanding how you tamed him, just shot him around with conc shot & frost trap till his debuff wore off?

I think it is like the other spider, once the energy falls down after certain point, he can be tamed... Once he is outside the lava, I mean.

yes when he;s out of the lava his energy drops down. u slow him with frost trap and conc to keep distance from him til his buff wears off. his buff increases attack speed by 1000% and speed by 100% so if u dont slow him he;ll rush u and kill u in a matter of seconds

I wonder if he can be stunned by the runes mentioned in the other topic, assuming you have the daily quest. If so that could make it a bit easier to lower his buffs down since not everyone is a good kiter. Still this is a pretty ncie challenge.

the daily quest ur talking about spawns fire elementals when ur in the cave and u have to click all the runes to complete the quest to stop them from spawning.

Nice! We still have no spiders at all on the other server. I hope these lengthy timers are either due to the server issues or else they're part of the challenge...

Oi umm yes if he gets to low in energy he dies. I had no problems kiting, my main problem was "target is not inline of sight" so when I tried to tame my CS went off so had to hit it again and by the time I managed to do that, he died from loss of energy I guess it was. Less then a min of kiting.. killed me alot cause I was trying to work around those things... well you said 24 hours? I guess ill see him tomorrow!

Oh this was on my other server to Kalli. So far no other spiders on the other server, and with high population its not easy That guy you for sure need alot of running room which is going to make it difficult if there are alot of questers there as he may one them if they try to pull agro but I can forsee alot of heart ache if people use to much slows to try and "help" you.
