ultra rare hunter pets?

this chick i know just started dating a new guy and this guy claims to have a pet that can only be tamed twice on a server
and this pet supposedly has bonus detect stealth abilities
does any pet have bonus detect stealth abilities?
could this pet be connected to the aq gate opening even if it doesnt have any bonus abilities?
after looking on the official forums and mmo champ forums and finding nothing i asked her about it again
she says that she was there when he was talking to a gm about transferring his hunter/ultra rare pet to a new server
i do find it hard to believe that with such a cool pet it would be so hard to find info about it
anyway just thought i would put the story out there on such a popular hunter pet forum to see what people had to say

He's just bluffing, no such pet exists, and even if it was a pet from the AQ gate event, back in the day you couldn't tame Silithids (less when you where level 60 and those 62+).
Also, no pet exists with ''extra stealth detection'' abilities.

Lol, if it's not here or on the petopia website in any form or fashion, there's a 98% chance it doesn't exist. As for any bonus abilities, all pets got "normalized" a long time ago and put into certain families and talent specs, so any bonus ability it has is from spec or dependant on whatever beast type it is. And as far as I know, there are no bonus to detect stealth abilities for any pet or tree. Probably need confirmation, from some other longstanding petopians out there, but I'm pretty sure I hit it on the money.

Shirubia and Ceravan nailed it on the head. Can you get any more information from them about this mysterious pet? Details, abilities, looks? If not, he's probably just BSing you. ;)

Been playing since Nov 2004, never heard of anything like that. Was there for the Quiraj opening. Nothing tameable popped out when the doors opened.
He could've bought the account thinking he was getting some uber-rare pet and gotten scammed.
Almost makes me wonder what I could get for my account. All 4 CE's and an Oozealisk...

I remember when pets could follow rogues when they vanished or Cloak of shadows. Hell I remember Flare picked them up and track hidden worked and let us see them comeing a mile away. The good old days when a hunter was something rogues hated, now their most op class in pvp stun lock someone to death with no class to balance them out.

But back to topic, I would talk to him or her and get the exact name of the pet that's the only way we'll truely be able to confrim just how rare it is.

You could get yourself or the person you attempted to sell the account to banned permanently. That's for certain.


I saw this question asked over on the official forums as well. The answer is: No. There has never been a hunter pet of that nature. Way back in Vanilla, some pets had "special" abilities, like the wolf Lupos doing shadow damage, or Snarler having crazy resists, or Takk the Leaper being able to run down an epic mount. But those abilities were normalized quite some time ago and now no longer exist. You're being accidentally or deliberately misled by these claims of an ultra-rare hunter pet.

I think you're being lied to. There's no such pet and I've got a few friends across different servers that were there and/or did the opening of the gate and there was nothing of the sort that popped up.

there are no secrets in wow, anything cool or interesting that happens gets broadcasted all over the web.

seems more like this new guy is trying to impress this chick you know. it'd be like some ricer with a honda civic with a few bolt ons claiming his car could beat a stock mustang cobra in the quater mile.
