Then why in the world are we whining about it, when so many of our beloved pets are technically 'reskins' by your definition?

I mentioned this in the other thread, but at least with me, I had always hoped Spirit Beasts would be unique within the family and would be exempt from the palette swap treatment.

In my opinion they're still reskins, no matter how long they've been in the game! Nearly every mob in the game is some kind of reskin. Like how demon dogs share models, but have different skins, like the blue ones in Colarra, or pink in Tirisfal, or red in Zul'drak. Or all of the mastiff skins - they were all released at the same time, but they're still reskins. It's a different skin on the same model. Reskin.

Are we counting the new 2 gem pets found in this group too? They are by far my favorite 4.2 rares as of now, except Deth.

The exact spawn locations/paths/whatever aren't marked, since we don't really know what they are yet, but that's a general ballpark for people who are just looking to make sure they're in the correct part of the zone.

With 2 more rares found, An updated version may be needed.

The little islands they spawn on aren't even on the big map, but once you're there, you can pretty easily tell which ones are the right ones.

Yep, It gives you an idea of where to stop and start looking at the Islands. Is it possible to get the tame off without needing to be on the same island. I remember you mentioned you didn't need to, but I figured that was for the crab ?

It's for both. You can stand off to the side and just tame from afar. Same spawns, same strategy.

I managed to do that today without falling, I just went very slow and was very careful. I still don't like doing it though, suppose I'll get better at it with practice.

You'll probably be even less excited to know that 3-4 of the islands can disappear at times....

But making it even once is good! xD

I did notice they would disappear, however if you waited a couple seconds, it would come back as new island. It was closer to the end of the chain. I remember thinking, how am I going to get across if they vanish on me when I get there, or will I fall to my death because it vanished on me just as I landed on it..

The rocks get cracks in them before they fall apart, so there's a bit of warning. There are also safe spots.

I did notice that as well, makes it more changeling to get across. I think the challenge of getting across could count as the "unique challenge" when it comes to taming the pets. If you do fall to your death you end up rezing where you wanted to be anyway. I'm not sure if it does this all the time or if it was just a fluke.

The tricky thing is that you can also end up there when you die attempting to tame Kirix too. >_>;

That would be a major pain in the ass. Specially when the patch first comes out. There is going to be heavy competition for the rares.

Ive actually fallen through rocks for no apparent reason which was extremely odd. And yes you can fall and die in an extremely bad spot and spend alot of time trying to get your body which when you see a rare you want.. it sucks.
