Name the white bear and white wind serpent

Unread post by Zanidar »

I recently got a white bear from the dwarf 1-10 area and just now got a white wind serpent from 1k needles. I have no clue what to name them though. I named my wolf Fenrir (some wolf in mythology, the norse people I think) so I want to keep that theme with their names. Any ideas?

Since your wolf is named Fenrir, most likely after Fenrisulven, a mythological wolf, a mythological bear would be a nice match. Can't think of such right now tough. How about Björn, Swedish for Bear.

I believe Otso is a name of a spirit bear of some sort in Finnish Mythology. I can't seem to find the link now, but that's one possibility.

For your Wind Serpent you could go with Thor or Zeus, since they're both mythological figures having to do with lightning.

Oh, a Flying Snake too.

Blixt - Swedish for lightning.
Fintflyg - Swedish composite word for "nice flight".
Þōrr - Ancient Norse for Thor, the Ligning God.

I absolutely second this name. I love it! :D

Wind Serpent:

Some lightning/thunder gods/goddess...
Shango, Yoruba, And Xevioso (African), Orko (Basque), Taranis (Celtic), Perkele(Finnish), Haikili (Hawaiian), and Fulgora and Tempestas (Roman).

Bear:

Valhalla - In Norse mythology, the place where half of those slain travel to upon death. The other half go to Fólkvangr.
A Jötunn or Jötnar is a giant in Norse myth.
Vili - Old Norse for "Will".
Máni - The Norse personification of the moon.
Sól - The Norse personification of the sun.

I'm not sure why, but Loki seems fitting for my wind serpent. I had a temporary raptor named Loki (which I think I read somewhere is some Norse God thing) when I was on my way to dun whtaeveritsnameis. Still can't decide for bear name, Jotunn and Bjorn sound cool though.
