And I'm not going to tell exactly what happened in reality but instead I'm going to make some RP. Just to make you enjoy the story

Déinonychus, the purple Raptor
Kharanos. Were everything began for me. The place in which I learned to be a hunter. Today was the final test : I knew how to tame a pet, now I can tame a pet. Three young hunters passed the test. Some other failed and will keep training. But we all were happy, because this was the first time for us to communicate with the beast. Of course, it was a test, we all freed the beasts after it. The next step will be to wisely choose and tame the one who will be our best friend.
So was the tavern full. As dwarves we had to celebrate this event right ? But we, the three ones who passed the test, were obnubilated by the choice of our companion. The mental link between the hunter and the beast we experienced today already missed us.
-Strange uh ? asked Goldrin. We should be the happiest here. But I can't help thinking I won't be complete until I would have tamed my own pet. You're feeling the same thing right ?
We booth agreed. There wasn't anything to add on this feeling : we weren't complete.
-Today, I've been impressed by the bear I tamed, continued Goldrin. I mean, bears are so strong, but they do not act without a good reason, they don't spend their strength unwisely. I heard there was a matriarch further in the Dun Morogh mountains. Tomorrow, I'll try to tame her.
As if he freed himself from a weigh, he drunk his whole bock of beer. Neither of us imitated him. We were still lost in our minds.
After some minutes of "silence" (as much silence there can be in a dwarf tavern), Toriandril seemed to have chosen.
-I've been more impressed by the boars I seen. They are so fierce when charging ! There are some ancient ones in the Loch Modan. Goldrin and I will follow the same way for a moment.
Two were decided. But I still cannot. I had the feeling that the one who will become my companion wasn't as easy to tame. In fact, I even had the feeling my quest would be long. But I was sure of something : it will be a predator.
Five minutes passed. Goldrin and Toriandril were chatting, and I was still thinking.
-Lông, you still didn't decided for your first pet ? asked Goldrin.
I continued to watch my bock for some seconds before answering.
-No, I still don't have a precise idea. I only know it will be a predator. But... I've that strange feeling it will be a kind of beast we never saw here.
Goldrin and Toriandril weren't the only one to hear my answer. A warrior came and sat near me.
-A predator we don't have here you said ? I've been in many parts of this world, and I can tell you there are far more of that kind of beast that you can imagine now. I guess you have heard about the Stranglehorn panthers ?
-I have. But that's still not this kind of predator.
-Mmh. What about the Wettlands crocilisks ?
-Still not. But that's nearer than panthers.
-Something more scaly uh ? I hope you're not thinking about Barrens raptors. These one are really mean. They are much more clever than other predators and their claws... It's able to cut through the hardest plate armor !
But I stopped listening at the end of the first sentence. A raptor. Of course. One of the most fearful predators on Earth. But it won't stop me from trying to tame one. As Goldrin and Toriandril, I'll try or die by trying.
When I suddenly took my bock and drank it, they looked at me with fear. They knew what I was feeling, and knew I wouldn't come back on my decision.
The trip itself wasn't a piece of cake. To reach the Barrens, I had to travel to the mighty Ironforge, in order to reach the fierce Stormwind. Then I took the boat to the mythic Darnassus. Even though I was deep involved in my quest, it was impossible for a young dwarf to ignore the glory of these towns.
Then it began to be harder. Going through Darkshore was long without any mount. But Ashenvale was not only bigger but far more dangerous. I saw beasts I knew I couldn't even try to tame. It took me days, but I finally reached my destination : the Barrens.
The contrast between Ashenvale's forest and the Barrens was surprising. No trees, no grass anymore. And a really heavy heat. At least, during the day. When I stopped to sleep, it was really cold. But I was used to the cold in the Dun Morog mountains.
And the day after I saw them : the raptors. They were near some kind of big hill, though it practically looked like a little peak. And they were near their nests.
I spent the next two days observing them. If I wanted to have a chance to tame one, I had to learn to know them. And I learned a lot of think in two days.
The raptors were hunting in groups, just like wolves. Their ambush were so unpredictable that even I had problems to know were they were waiting their preys. The raptors have got feathers on they ankles and kneels. I guess the better they are, the tougher is the raptor. And what the warrior said about the claws was true. They have a huge claw on their legs which makes some really serious wounds when they use it.
On the third day, I tried to make up a plan to tame one of them. But when I heard a strange noise behind me, I understood that I made a terrible mistake. Several times, I feared the raptors located me, but as they didn't do anything I thought they didn't. What a stupid mistake. Of course they located me : they just didn't considered me as a threat or a substantial prey. Guess at least one of them changed his mind...
I rolled on the side as fast as I could. The claw went at a few centimeters far from my face. I stood up as the raptor prepared a second charge. I looked around me to know where were the other raptors. But I couldn't see any single one except the one that charged me.
The raptor charged me again. I tried to anticipate it and swiftly moved just at the right time to dodge the monstrous claw. I shoot to the raptor with my gun, but it seemed like it even didn't notice it before charging again. I dodged as I did before. Another mistake. The raptor understood how I dodged and this time it reacted right. I understood that fact as I felt the claw on my arm. The huge pain in it told me that the raptor managed to cut the arm until the bone.
The warrior was right : they are fearsome predators. And I realized that I couldn't beat it. With my right arm bleeding, I had only one choice left : trying to tame the raptor. It was the only way I had to survive. So I tried to communicate with the beast.
I could only sense her fury. Right, "her", it was a female. And right too, such fury she nearly was crazy. It would be impossible to convince her to follow me instead of killing me.
As she charged me, I went back. I had to gain the more time I could to try to understand why this fury, and how to calm her. But without any success. She charged me again and again, without any sign of tiring. And I couldn't say the same thing with me. I lost a good amount of blood and making such efforts to dodge was exhausting me.
Charge after charge, I went back. And I had no other choice to retreat were she wanted me to go. I was cornered, a hill behind me. Then I noticed the nest. Her nest as my mental link with the raptor learned me. And all the eggs had been crushed. Her eggs.
What kind of creature would have done a such thing ? Sure it wasn't a beast, some of the eggs would have been eaten. So this was an humanoid. Probably an Orc. But WHY ? I was far from Orgrimar or any orc village ! These raptors weren't a single threat for them ! And even if they were, they should have killed adults, not the eggs ! What kind of coward would kill beasts that couldn't defend themselves ? Any hunter would understand that. Aren't there Orc hunters ? And how could they tolerate this massacre ? Even in my situation, I couldn't blame the raptor to be so furious. I was myself furious against the one that have done that horror. Destroying eggs !
I waited the raptor to charge a last time. I was too tired to dodge again. But she didn't. Could she have felt my own feelings through the mental connection ?
