Did I screw up?

First time post, was journeying about in Winterspring and came across Sian-Rotam, incredibly pumped I quickly killed his wife and tamed him. As I left I saw Rak'shiri.

Now before I say what I did, let me say in my defence that I spent 4 hours waiting on Mahamba, the first rare spawn I've tamed only to learn he isn't a unique model. Not wanting to be bothered to stable a pet, come back and tame Rak'shiri I just killed it. Gloated to my guild about my 4th rare tamed I was informed Rak'shiri is the rarer one, is this true?

Well.. lets see two things...

1. Sian is a rare now, Shy does not call him. He is either up or not up. So killing Shy really meant nothing.
2. If you didnt want it.. why kill it?

I think Rak and Sian have a realitave same spawn timer.. but its hard to say...

I think they're both equally rare. Your guild might be missinformed and think that Shy still summons Sian.
Grats on taming Sian - honestly, I see Rak'shiri up every time I visit.

Grats on Sian - as has been said before, he's a rare now and can't be summoned.

As for Rak, he's almost always up and there's no real reason to feel bad(or let anyone make you feel bad) if no one else was there to tame him. You didn't do anything wrong. :) They're both equally rare, although considering the times I've flown over and not seen Sian, you might have gotten the better end of the deal here.

Think there was no point making him a rare even though the quest saber is always out, could have still called it mid battle.

Also Echeyakee has the same white lion model. *might wanna dumb the rare you got since you said you don't tame rares with a non-unique skin, makes you look like a hypocrite*

Meh, Rak'shiri seems to be a more "common" rare now, in that he/she is up pretty often. Also, you're the same level so you could benefit from the drop, assuming it dropped a green. Really, it's no big deal. Winterspring is always empty when I'm there so I doubt anyone would even notice.

I've killed rare pets for hopeful good loot drops. If it looks empty and it is well.. Go for it, you found it and you have the right to do what you want with it. I personally wouldnt kill her but thats simply because I'm very fond of Rak myself and loved having my aqua kitty when I did.
