The Trials of Ogrom

He stood there in the wide expanse that was called the Borean Tundra, an elderly orc gazing out upon the mass of snow, ice and dying plant life, herds of wild beasts roaming the lands all around him as he readied his rife, glancing down at the creature by his foot... a rather large, fat and imposing boar, it's massive hide flanked with cool saronite armor in a manner very similar to it's master. Ogrom, the clanless orc gave his boar a nudge with his boot "Up! Up you lazy creature! We have a hunt to do..or have you forgotten already why we came out here? You wanted to come in Skyrage's place today...and so you wil play the proper part!"

The Elderly Orc grinned down at his companion with yellowed tusks, showing his advanced age...along with the advanced age of his companion...both seeming to have been around for awhile... The boar lifted it's massive body off of the cold tundra floor with a loud grunt as it's master kicked dirt onto their campfire.. They spent the night out here, long hours appraising and watching the nearby herd of whooly rhino, watching it's movements and behaviour... especially one in particular... the Bull... Four times as large as the largest of them all, dwarfing his entire herd with his presence... This one however... was the Hunter's Quarry... This was the beast that the elderly orc wanted to mount on his wall, and a wide grin crossed his face, knowing full well that his copanions have moved further to the east to assault a Scourge Ziggurat... but his hunter instinct could not be spared... We wanted..no... Needed to drop this massive beast that he saw in the distance as he traveled with his companions into the very Heart of the Borean Tundra... This..was a time to prove to himsef that his old age meant nothing...NOTHING whatsoever...

"Let's go Hahn" He spoke, both orc and beast immediately breaking into a sprint towards the herd... Their path aiming for the massive Bull that has moved to the side, roars of rage leaving both of them as their eyes grew red with unleashed fury as they descended upon their prey... Completely defying any concept of "Elderly"....

The boar charged into the rhino's side with a sickening crunch, tossing the full weight of it's shoulder into the wooly hide, forcing the massive beast that was it's opponent into a thunder slide, eyes opening in shock that it could have been moved at all, roaring in a furious response, turning it's horns as it aimed to take the smaller beast down with a single swipe.

BANG!

The sound of gunfire, a rumbling bolt of thunder cast into the sky, tumbling across the tundra with a voracious hunger to devour the senses of safety..... The entire herd...ran...

A massive stampede of creatures large enough to easily storm through a city's gates and cause massive destruction came towards the hunter.... hundreds of them trampling the ground with all due rage, fury and fear as they charged past him... it was all the elderly orc could do to not be stepped on, turning his head to roar over the sounds of panicked beasts "HAHN!!! DONT LET 'EM GET AWAY!!!"

The boar squealed in response, just as the Bull tried to break free of the contact, to run with his herd..but HAhn wasnt having it... The massive boar tossed itself into the rhino's hide, over and over again...tearing chunks of meat out with sharpened deadly razor-like tusks and massive hooves, holding the Bull at bay.... both beasts roaring and tumbling through the ice and dirt, oblivious to whatever else was happening..the bull completely confident that the orc was trampled by his herd...and all it would have to do was deal with this smaller creature and return to it's subordinates.... oh... how it was wrong...

As the last rhino ran by, dust, dirt and ice billowing through the air... a blood red gleam was visible through the haze, moments before a flash and another thunderous gunshot tore through the air, sending ripples and clearing the dirt and ice around it in an instant as a bullet exploded from the barrel..heading straight for the rhino's throat...

The intense pain was brief... the rhino felt the bullet enter it's hide and tearing open an artery.... It knew then that it was about to die.. It knew then that the cruel looking enemy that slowly paced towards it as the smaller beast rushed towards his side was victorious... It knew then as the ederly orc glared down at his prize with a wicked grin...that it would die.
