Soloing TK: The Eye as hunter

Has anyone tried?

I tried today and after 8 hours I finally manged to do it.. so happy and proud of myself that I kept trying until I got it.. Now I'm tired think I'll watch a movie before sleep, but thought I'd post here first because I'm curious if anyone tried and what strategy they used etc. So, anyone?

Except after wiping for a few hours using turtle, I decided to switch to Arcturis (spirit beast). Specced deep into "Lick your wounds" and the heals (used on myself) somehow made a difference. (I loose some health on advisors in phase 3). Also had to res the pet once with heart of the phoenix, another amazing talent turtles don't have.

I made a lot of stupid mistakes like forgetting to loot/use the staff for like a million times Also got MC'd a few times when fighting Kael, which restarted the fight (after I killed my pet :/)

Ah well, I'm excited that I managed to do this. Mount didn't drop, but now I know i can farm it each week Got a lot of experience now too, next week should take less time

edit: BTW my gear is ZA/ZG with some rep rewards - 353 item level.

Yup! Well, more or less - my significant other did, who'd never played a hunter before. (He was curious and he likes challenges.) My hunter's gear is about the same as yours.

I've written up a full strategy post on how to solo Kael'thas as a hunter over on my weblog, with handy strategy diagrams and everything.

I'm interested in soloing this to try to get the 2 piece Tier 5. This is the same instance right?

Yup, this and Serpentshrine Cavern.

Tier 5 pieces drop from:

- Void Reaver, Tempest Keep (shoulders)
- Kael'Thas, Tempest Keep (chest)
- Leotheras the Blind, Serpentshrine Cavern (gloves)
- Fathom-Lord Karathress, Serpentshrine Cavern (legs)
- Lady Vashj, Serpentshrine Cavern (helm)

Vashj is unsoloable. Of the remaining four, Void Reaver is probably the biggest pushover of the lot, then... hmm. Kael'thas takes execution; Leotheras apparently is pretty easy to solo as a hunter (outranging the chaos bolts he does in demon phase, see the comments on the Wowhead page). Don't think Karathress can be soloed as a hunter, at least not easily.

tempest keep Done and done, and i agree that sp is easiest though i found worm to be quite usefull too i do have trouble soloing is ssc cause of the cast táctic on the boss

Everything I've read says to go for the Shoulder off Void Reaver and the Gloves of Leotheras!!!
