Syrenah, the start of a short story, perhaps?

Before I start, I want to say that this probably won't live up to my standards of writing that I usually do...I get a little shy when I try to write for public eyes, and it turns out worse than normal. I'm trying to break that habit it's really hard

The Greatest Lynx in the World

Syrenah had been crying. Life with only one parent and a sister was rather difficult, and sometimes she just couldn't take it any more. She now sat huddled in the corner of her bed, around her emerald eyes was red from crying, and she didn't know what to do. Her mother, Iraelia, had left to go hunting, and her sister, Kiranaa, was away for training. So, she was alone, other than Jinx, the brown female Lynx that she had had since a kitten.
Sniffing a few times, Syrenah shakily slid off the bed to walk around a bit. Thinking that a breath of fresh air would help, the young Blood Elf pulled her dark brown hair back in a ponytail and stepped outside. A fresh, crisp breeze came in from the seashore before her, and the trees of Eversong behind her were at their most vivid color this time of year. Sighing, Syrenah sat down on the beach, her bare feet in the cool shallows. Hearing a soft padding behind her, she turned her head to see Jinx wandering quietly up to her. Syrenah smiled at the Lynx, reaching out with one hand to pet her mane. Jinx mewed softly and came up beside her, lying her head and front paws on her master's lap. Syrenah felt tears coming again, and buried herself in her cat's mane. The soft, brown fur was warm and nice smelling, and it comforted her more than anything could at that moment. In three days, Syrenah would be turning eighteen and could leave home, and this incredibly sad life she currently lived. She couldn't wait. Jinx purred deeply, a comforting sort of rumble going through her body, and she licked her master's arm with her rough tongue, as if to say that it was all right.
"Thank you, Jinx. You're the greatest Lynx in the world. Soon we can go be free, and live those adventures we've dreamed about." Syrenah smiled, petting her Lynx lovingly, then rising to go back inside and finish the work she had forgotten.

So there it was ^^ Do you think I should continue it, or no? It was rather fun Although I do usually have more dialogue than that, but it's harder with only one person who can talk.
Here are two screenshots of the two in the story...I'll be drawing them soon and using one of these as a reference picture. Which do you think I should use?

Goodness I don't think I have ever seen a more perfect match. The colors are perfect.

And yeah that was a very nice introduction! Using pictures with your story... genius! I will have to do that, it adds a depth that words can't.

Thanks I think I'll continue this in a few days when I have some time to plan out a story or something
I think I'll also crop the pictures to cut out the unneeded stuff

Oh, this was so sweet! I can’t believe that in so few of words, you were able to paint such a beautiful relationship between a hunter and her pet I am so shy about posting my things to the public, too, but don’t worry! You are a wonderful writer and I can’t wait to read more – you should absolutely continue!

Syrenah and Jinx (love the name, by the way!) really do just look perfect together. I love that she has the brown lynx, and my Costin has the red one – and they seem to suit each other so, so well! I can’t wait to see what you draw! I vote for the second picture, too. It paints such an intimate look into the lives of a hunter and her pet She does look like she’s telling her a secret!

Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone I'll get to work on that picture early next month and see what I can do I'm glad you enjoyed the story! I'll definitely be continuing it next month as well, hopefully after I get to level Syrenah a bit more ^^ (I would do it this month, but it's almost over and I have stuff to do anyways )
