We actually factually got rain today! Awesome! Well, it beats the normal weather, which is nothing. (alright the normal weather's fog, but fog is white, and white is nothing, right?)

I could tell you about today, or I could tell you about a few days ago.

The first mistake was agreeing to go to Chipotle with only three bucks with a friend. Not able to buy a burrito, I bought a fountain soda. Little did I know, this would wreak havoc later. Anyways, we leave Chipotle to get our separate ways and remark about the fact that the sky is dark as night. Me, being me, figured I could beat the storm and walk a mile home.

Wind started. Drizzle was a go. And in the distance, the rumble of thunder and the flash of lightning. But I'm not disturbed, not yet. Then, the rain started screaming down. The lightning was overhead, and I was telling myself that I was probably not going to die by lightning struck, and that I was more likely to die by a tree falling on me.

With that lovely pep talk, I trudged my way through the storm. Then, the rain poured harder. I couldn't see to the end of the block, and cars were only pinpricks of light. By now, I was passing the house of a family which I babysit. Panicked, I had to chose: make the half mile to safety, or cower under the porch.

Stubborn, I tried to carry on when the storm and lightning crashed and let me know that if I wanted to survive and retell this story, I had better sit my butt down under that porch. Complying with the storm, I sat under the porch on a chair, only for my stomach to say, "Hey, Azu. We're no longer happy with you and we're going to fill you with hurty and sadness." So I was trapped under a porch, with the world ending, and my stomach hurt.

My mom, who finally figured it was a good idea to be somewhat worried, texted me, asking where I was. I told her. Her reply, "Are you babysitting for them?" not "Do you want a ride?" not "Are you surviving in this apocalypse situation?" No. She wanted to know if I had a job.

I explained that no, I wasn't working for them that night, and the texting lapsed into silence. Finally, the rain let up sort of, even if the lightning was still loud as hell. So I sprinted home, running in a panicked state. People looked at me strange, pity in their eyes. "Oh, look at the poor, sopping wet girl. D:"

Finally, I make it home, and found out all the towels were in the dryer, and I had a lack of clean clothes. The end.

Woo, we finally cooled off! We've had a long week of hot weather (we went as high as 31 or 32 degrees celcius here) in the prairies, and yesterday's wind storm was a welcome change of pace. It brought the temperature down and my sanity up.

It's 8 AM and we're at 25 Celsius, the sun is shining in a clear sky, and the day promises to be a lovely, warm one at 30 C or over. Finally, I'm not cold anymore. <3

According to my main weather resource it's 88°F in Florida. As they put it: IT'S F*CKING HOT.

...if you live up North, I guess. 88 is nice 'sit-around-in-your-underwear' weather but it's not nearly as bad as it was earlier today. It's not normally the heat that does it as much as the humidity, but it was in the 90s earlier today. We need rain. :s

DC reaches the 90's, sometimes hundreds with humidity. 88 is pretty nice.

And, me being me, I hate shorts so I'm running around in a pair of jeans. (Granted, they are damn comfy jeans.)

Not yet 9 AM and the temperature is steadily rising, 29 Celsius and partly cloudy. The weather forecast is 32 C for today, but I think it'll likely surpass that as it has every single day since the hot weather started. Maybe 35 Celsius later today? Man I love summer!

Typical hot, still summer-y days in October. Like 90 degrees. Really? We've had some really nice rain a couple days ago but it didn't help much to the yearly drought Texas has been going through. We'd need a miracle.
