Ones journey must start somewhere, and as always, some have grander beginnings than others.
There are those whom are known for their deeds of bravery, feats of strength and of guile and cunning, and normally they have their names carved out in the history pages or Azeroth. These heros emerge among both the alliance and horde alike, but they were not always so.
Some of these heros, were that of a simple beginnings....
VOL'JIN - The Young Shadow Hunter -
Vol'Jin, a shadow hunter that is feared and respected throughout the horde, one of loyalty, savagery and skill, but he had to start some where?
He was trained by his father Sen'Jin is the ways of the shadow hunter, to commune with their sacred voodoo Loa, to grant them blessings and special abilities.
There are many Loa that the trolls have been able to channel throughout the lands of Azeroth, and many of us have had the pleasure or displeasure of witnessing these 1st hand.
Shadow hunters however, normally have their own sacred Loa set apart from the other trolls in which bless them in a multitude of ways.
Below is a small scene of a young Vol'Jin, whom has been training in the call of the Loa Dambala, to help guide him further down the path in his training to be a Shadow hunter.
Originally I was just doodling on some paper and thinking along the lines of, troll hunter, Hmmm wind serpent pet.... may be a staff for a weapon?
But as I continued to develop the ideas in more depth, the scene took an unexpected twist. He was not just an ordinary hunter, there was something more to him, something familiar. He was so young that his future was not quite set in stone and he was still learning of the world around him.
Then I realised that he was not asking the serpent what shall you do next he was asking it what shall I do next. He was talking and communing with it, and it was guiding him. It became quiet clear that what I was drawing was not a just a hunter, but that of a young shadow hunter, and then the rest of the drawing came together as if it was ment to be.
Yet again, this is only the pencil work at the moment, and one can only hope i find the time to render it, but i'll keep you posted
Enjoy!

Wow, beautiful as always! That wind serpent is just breath taking...I wish they looked that good in game. I love all the small details you have...the artifacts on the staff, the wood detail, the linework on the pants and even the small crack in the toenail...I'm especially drawn in by the swirling magic around the pendant. The lines are so simple, but when looked at they have such an animated effect. I can only imagine how stunning it will look coloured.
Tbh it dosent matter if the "lore" fails as you say its a wonderful picture and whatever someone wants to write down or draw is their own creation and you should respect that.

Dear Max,
Welcome to the Fan Art & Creative Writing area of the the Petopia Forums. It does not say NON-Fiction submisions only. No creative feelings are allowed unless they are lore exact, no exceptions.
If that is your attitude, why are you even looking in the Fan Art & Creative Writing?
Now, If you were actually educated in wow lore, you would have actually seen the multitude of other things that are seriously wrong and I mean way wrong.
And you know what, I am fully aware of every bit, I drew them!
A) ~~ The biggest thing, It dose not even look like Vol’Jin, Vol’Jin has a Mohawk!? Fail
I know this, but as I stated, this drawing did not start off as Vol’Jin, it evolved into it from my perspective. When I decided to change it, I was figured if my troll could change her hair styles between pvp and raiding, why couldn’t he
B) ~~ If you actually knew anything about Loa, you would have also seen that the one I had drawn was the wrong one. /gasp!
Dambala, the Loa of serpents and treachery, teaches the shadow hunter to move swiftly and quietly by changing his shape into that of a serpent.
Quetz'lun is the only true wind serpent Loa and he is not even a Loa that shadow hunters call upon.
And again, I know this, but as I stated, this drawing did not start off as Vol’Jin, it was a hunter and its pet wind serpent.
C) ~~The facial marking are all wrong!? The paint on this shadow hunter is different to Vol’jins, OMG ! ! !
D) ~~ Shadow hunters don’t use staffs? What are you crazy!?! The use a fel glaive, everyone knows that…. /facepalm
I could go on, but you get the idea.
Next time you wish to add your 2 cents about how we fail with lore, please don’t unless you’re prepared to actually back it up….
P.S.
And BTW, do you know who I draw these pictures for? You guys, the people here at Petopia, thats it.
I have no one else whos interested in them, they think they are odd, or evil looking, so I showed no one.
In fact I had never shown people my drawings for years and years before i started putting them on the mania's past forums.
But dont worry, it will be the last one for a while now.

You should never stop what you like due to others sour attitudes, they'll always be a bad egg in the batch. If you enjoy it and think others will enjoy it as well, then go on with it and just push the negative comments out of the way. Focus on the praise, and you'll be fine.
PS - Great story and love the pic
For just one click a day, you too can sponsor a squiby pet. Do it!

Wow. Personally, I'm really flattered that you chose to share your art with us, Spirit. It's gorgeous stuff. I'm sorry that Max's words have caused you to reconsider. I hope you will reconsider, given the other responses in this thread. Your art is too awesome not to be shared, and most of us appreciate it very, very much. *hugs*
Much gratitude to Spiritbinder for the signature and Vephriel for the avatar!<3
^ Again I agree you have drawn perhaps the best troll I have ever seen. He looks young and happy..he looks agile and graceful and he dosent look lumbering like some WoW male troll mdeosl do. What you do it amazing and you should be very proud!
