I had to share this story because I believe I got the first Anhka on Thrall. I didn't make it online until about 7 pm last night, and I assumed that Magria or Anhka had already spawned ages ago and been tamed by one of our lucky fellowship or killed by one of the less... enlightened classes

. Still I felt like doing the dailies and cruising around for a bit though, so I kept my track beasts up and flew the upper half of the Regrowth just in case at least once every hour. Anyway after doing the first phase of the Thrall storyline quest and a dungeon or two I was getting sleepy (about 5 am) I decided "One more time, just to see." I flew to the very northwest edge of the Regrowth and faceplant my mount into the hillside, and literally as I touch down, a huge spectral tiger spawns in front of me and ghosts right through me! My hands immediately turn to all thumbs as I try to dismount and switch armor sets to my "bare tamer" gear (hopefully that gets at least a few smiles

) and begin the tame. Thankfully I'd had the good sense to dismiss my cat before beginning my flyover as I think that saved me. Anyway, after what felt like an eternity of Anhka wailing on me the great beast submitted to the tame and in a flash of light he was mine!!! We were immediately attacked by a group of charred flamewalkers or whatever they're called, and though I was naked and he had no talents we managed to kill them and fly to safety. If I had to guess - and I could be wrong - I think Magria must have spawned first and someone tamed/killed him and then I caught Anhka on the next spawning. It's a strange feeling knowing that I'm one of the first people to tame one of these beauties, and one that makes me feel very lucky and special. I named him after the gladiator Theokoles from the show Spartacus: Blood and Sand, whose nickname was "The Shadow of Death." Considering the fact that my new spirit cat is similarly huge and ghostly pale, and that his first act was to kill our attackers in such spectacular fashion, I think it fits! I'll try to get some screenshots up sometime soon. Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone else still on the hunt.
