Last night I did the dailies as soon as I could and headed into the Molten Front to camp Karkin. Minutes before getting in I was told Skarr had been found and rehomed. In was a bit saddened, but I did the dailies and went to camp anyway, hoping he'd spawn at the short end of his timer. No luck D: I ended up staying up until 6 AM and I couldn't go on any further. Today, I logged in, right next to a blood elf hunter camping for Skarr. We talked a bit, a night elf and dwarf joined us shortly after. I was starting to get bored, when he said " Oh look! Kirix spawned. " I turned south, and what do you know? The big green spider was running back and forth. I watched a minute or so, didn't see anyone around...Now, I didn't want to tame any of the other rares, but I did have Kirix on PTR, so we had a bit of background. No one was going for him, and after asking if any other hunters wanted him, to which I was told no, and by many friends to go for it, I began to run over to tame it. Suddenly, NPCScan goes off. Karkin! He had spawned on his southern rock.The flurry of tells I got can be best described as headache inducing. Kirix was drawing a crowd, mostly friends of mine, and I had no fewer than ten people whispering me. " Get him! " I jumped down to try and reach Karkin's rock... and fell. I died, of course, and I was freaking out the whole run back. I rezzed, and they were both there. More people had gathered, watching Kirix. I was the sole person turned to Karkin.The tame went off without a hitch, and there I stood, proud owner of the server's first gem crab. I thought that was it, but I noticed the crowd was still watching a completely wild Kirix path back and forth. They were waiting for me to tame him! So I tried, failing miserably... multiple times. Soon, a few friends who -did- want him came over to try their luck, and it became a complete mess of hunters trying to tame and people watching in amusement.At one point, I had started casting tame, and was dying, quickly. I had to FD, and my friend began taming. He was killed by AoE, and the spider came back after me. It stopped, bugged, and seconds later, right as I died, I saw it had been tamed by another friend, who had failed taming him only a day before. The second time I see Kirix, once again tamed in utter chaos. He is the Chaos Spider!Congratulations went around, and we all went our separate ways. Now I'm just trying to find a name for my crab- I might post a thread on that, if I can't think of anything soon. It was a happy afternoon indeed!
