Cunning Deeps...
I've always had this idea that I'd be using a Ravager for DPS. However, I've heard of other pets that could do better. Also, the guide says it "works nicely," but does it mean PvE or PvP? That's why I ask you:
-Would a Ravager make a viable DPS pet for 5-mans and maybe raids? Do quirky abilities have a place in Heroics? Or am I better off with a different Cunning pet such as a Wind Serpent?
-On another note, do any non-BM Hunters manually use their pet's skills, such as Nether Shock when one doesn't have Silencing Shot?

Re: Cunning Deeps...
Thanks for putting to my attention that the Ravager section was an incomplete thought. I fixed it that it works well for soloing, as the cd is too long for most conventional uses.
Cunning DPS best: Chimaera, Wind Serpent, and Dragonhawk.
Serpent might actually beat out Wind Serpents but my main theory-crafting tool doesn't calculate it properly.

Ah, so my Ravager is more of a soloing/PvP pet. Thank you for that update. I already knew about the top 3 thing, so I found a Wind Serpent for my hunter that fits her style. Arclite's newest stable member

Still deciding, but it'll probably be something fire-related due to his/her orange skin. He/She shoots lightning, but then again, lighting in real life is actually extremely hot.

I named my Serpent Electrify, but then again I'm me. Randomness is due. Yup. Totally.

Ooh, lovely choice.
I agree that the wind serpent seems like it'll suit your character well.
Re: Cunning Deeps...
I always used to think ravagers were good cuz they can hit hard, but frankly, that was probably true before the Lich King. I never owned one but those were the rumors I heard.
