I was very lucky to spot the green spider on my first visit to the Molten Front
He spawns on the south side of the crater and I was just up there having a hop around, having died a couple of times fighting my way through the fire up that point, I turned around when i was hopping between floating rocks and spotted him!
As you can imagine, word got out quickly as there was also a belf DK up the top with me...
However, i climbed up on the Fire Plume crater and there is a single lone rock and jumped to that. It took a few tries to get the jump right and I generally did it when I was dead and resurrected there, something to do while waiting for the timer to count down. I made sure I was full health and had fun watching Kirix kill all the hordies that had gathered to try and kill him to stop me or the other ally hunter taming him. Anyway, I stood on the rock, and shot him from there, which he evaded and then when he started casting his nasty poison shot I hit deterrence and then immediately hit tame beast - i got this strategy from the comments on Wowhead rather than think of anything myself so no credit due to me there
However, it worked! I was jumping around the room waving my hands around and I am sure my guildies thought I was nuts ^^
There were 4 hordies there by the time I tamed him, two of whom slapped me for my efforts but I don't care. I only wish he had retained his abilites so i could've set him on them lol. I've seen posts suggesting he is on a 24 hour respawn so that suggests I have the first Kirix on my realm which is a cool feeling
