The sad death of a spider...

But I -must- share this story.

Bored out of my mind, I decided I was going to check on the new rares. I didn't actually expect one to be up, so imagine my surprise when I found Skitterflame sitting all by his lonesome self. Now, I didn't want him, so my first course of action was to whisper the other hunters in the zone... all one of them. I was told " I'm not interested in any of the spiders. Especially Skitter. " Feeling a bit sad that the little guy seemed so unloved by the masses, I decided I'd tame him anyways, to spare him some horrible death.

I went back to Hyjal to stable a pet, and then once more to Molten Front. Upon arriving at Skitter's spot, I saw a night elf hunter friend there. Assuming she wanted to tame him, I gladly let her go ahead. Here is where things take a turn for the worse.

She pulls him with a trap, and then hits him with a scatter shot. Trap again. Now, he's really low on energy, but not -quite- enough to tame. Another trap, she busts him out quick, begins to tame... and a fire bird attacks her from nowhere. She stops her tame and lays down a trap for the bird. But it doesn't trap the bird. Skitter jumps into the trap and is frozen.

Aaaand he runs out of energy.

So there we were, staring at the corpse of the poor spider. Clearly he heard that the hunter I whispered ESPECIALLY didn't want him, and decided life wasn't worth it D: Poor spider...

But now... I told the story to a few friends, and an epic roleplay has sparked out of this. I'm tempted now to make a hunter whose sole purpose is to tame Skitterflame and name him Skitterzombie... if the name will fit. If not, I might just need some similar suggestions.

i had something similiar today, i grouped up with three other hunters *one can't enter molten front* to laugh and share information etc. i came across skitterflame and i said quite luiterally: skitterflame is up! Two of my mates which could go there arrived there shortly. My two mates rolled and it was set who was going to tame. i explained mechanics, and they started to kite the tree of us were laying ice traps till i said enough. we laid downn one freezing trap till it was tamable and i shot for it to get out of it. so we all feign but the one going to tame and he gets aggro, goes to start tame but... missclicks and lays a freezing trap... he tries to pull it away from it but it was to late may he rest in peace
