But although the little green buggers seemingly have been popping up everywhere else, they were taking great care to avoid Zangarmarsh.
So when I saw Kirix, I /sighed and joined the mob of hunters (and the litter of skeletons) who were already there trying; tried the disengage method... died at 80% complete. Tried the floating rock method, died at 99.89% complete. Then a troll hunter tamed him with a pally bubble.
Went back to checking on broodlings, no dice. But ... oh look, there's Deth'Tilac on Eagle Eye.
"Ha ha, as if", I chuckled as I rode over.
Found a NE there ahead of me, so I let her have her shot at him. After a little while she died, and Deth reset. So I went for him, mainly because I knew how mad I'd be at myself later if I hadn't at least tried. So I sent my spider in and did the kite / pet rez shuffle (being MM helped a lot, as others have noted).
Gradually a crowd formed, occasionally jumping in to attack Deth, and I was extremely glad for DS being disabled - while I'm not certain any of them were going out of their way to try and pull aggro, I tend to assume the worst about strangers.
Finally I got Deth down into the "tame area", tried to tame and ... I couldn't, because my spider hadn't been abandoned (my active slots weren't full)... by now without exaggeration my hands were shaking so much I could barely manage the keyboard - and I was backed into a corner (and the wife was talking to me about something, so I was kinda muttering "yes - that sounds great!" without having a clue what I was agreeing to)... but somehow I managed to slip around Deth, rez my poor yellow spider one last time, and then click abandon before it got one shotted again.
The rest as they say, is history...
