Nope, fickle RNG is fickle RNG - if I lacked for patience I wouldn't have bothered camping them, obviously.Thwip wrote:Yay! Congrats! Guess they wanted to teach a little bit of patience. xD

Yes - I was very happy to remove Kirix from my targeting macro.LupisDarkmoon wrote:Up on Wyrmrest! I'm really glad they have a non rare version, I keep taming these spiders and realizing that I don't like the skin... So I keep abandoning them. I don't want to do that to rares!
I might keep the green one around for a bit, at least until I find Solix. <3

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Hah, yeah, Ebonrook saw Kirix at least twice (maybe more, I didn't get a play by play update) and has yet to see these guys once.
She finally got Kirix himself because she was tired of waiting. XD
So... rare is in the eye of the beholder, wot? I'll be honest, I love the green skin but I think I'm sticking to my (common) red one just because it looks better with Aren. (And I totally named it Kingsford, because I am a dork.)

Yes, I was ready to have another go at Kirix if I didn't see the little guys first. Had my core hound, speed potions, macros, etc.
Wasn't looking forward to it though...

I've seen Kirix 3 times and these guys once. For what it's worth the dailies were: Heal dudes, smack giants, help whisp. They were just skittering around in the road. O_o But so adorably teeny!

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
I could see the frustration if Kirix had started as the only green, and a regular version was later added as a sop to casuals... but as Vephriel noted it's orange and purple who were the designated "uniques", whilst the other colors were shared between rares and commons.Vephriel wrote:The purpose of Kirix is to present one of several new challenge tames.Dr. Rockso wrote:so these kinda defeat the purpose of Kirix being rare. i know they dont spawn all the time but when they do there are like 10 of them and they keep re spawning making an unlimited supply to any willing hunters that want one that are logged on at that time. Instead of only one being up within a 8 hour spawn timeWe have other unique rares that can fill the purpose of being individuals, but right now these are paving the way for future tames that feel like more of an achievement or a thrill.
Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
I know some people are looking in this thread at some of us with a distaste for these tinies, but ya know what? I don't really care. They don't devalue Kirix in any way, shape, or form. From the looks of it, they are just as hard to camp for and obtain as his tame challenge. Anthriss and Skitterflame already have common skins, but that doesn't stop people from going after that challenge.
I chose to tame one of these partly since well...I'm Horde on an Alliance based server. We're so overbalanced on that end it's not even funny, but I choose to stay because I'm pretty darn rooted in. It sucks, but it's home. As such, I've yet to see one molten front rare up, at all. Even during the nighttime, granted, I'm not trying overly hard due to grief from non-new rare hunting already this week.
There will still be people taming Kirix, Anthriss, and Skitter if ONLY just for their challenge and more power to them. Right now, I'm just happy that I have one of the colors of my choice until everything settles down and I can possibly camp/run across Deth. I enjoy the idea of using my spider in the molten front without making someone's NPCscan go off like crazy and get that adrenaline surge and false hope.
There's my two cents, not that it matters. Still no broodlings to be seen on Elune today.

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
If you suddenly look at a companion as less important/special because they have a common counterpart....I personally feel that's more a problem on your end than on Blizzard's.
When everyone starts running around with a purple or orange spider, guess which ones will seem more common then?
I've pulled the long camps. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. There is not a partner in my stables I would not gladly offer up to be given a "common" version....because look at what "bling" has made people become this patch.

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Agreed, Thwip!
I love Kirix to pieces, especially for his murder sprees, but it in no way bothers me that the baby green spiders are tamable. There were multiple hunters trying to tame Kirix yesterday on my server. The blood elf got him in style (yay for him!), then I dragged two of the other hunters to the babies for consolation spiders.
So everyone got a green and sanity was saved. Yay!

Just to add in again--once more the Wisp Away quest is up on my realm, and again the broodlings are available. Yesterday neither was the case.
If Wisp Away isn't the exact daily that spawns them, perhaps it's *linked* (i.e. is available on the same days as) another, as-yet-unlocked one that is.
Or has anyone had them available without Wisp Away, or had Wisp Away up without the broodlings spawning?

I had Wisp Away yesterday. No Keepers, but no Broodlings either.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with one daily quest from The Shadow Wardens since they seem to have at least one NPC inside The Widow's Cluth that gives out dailes to do there.

As for those who are furious that Kirix has a "common" counterpart; I tamed Kirix today. Despite that, I looked for the babies periodically. I never saw them. I have never seen them. So, define "common".

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
i def plan to tame a broodling tomorrow if they're up, you guys have me camping them while camping solix and deth'tilac even before i and several other hunters had kirix stolen by a hunter who already owned kirix. Havent seen the broodlings ever since the patch came out so im hoping i'll see em in the next few days-- or kirix so i can get my toxic spider =P
Edit: im now an active player on Silver Hand and have stopped playing Wyrmrest Accord, just thought it was importaint cause only Ashaine to my knowledge is also on silver hand while many are on wyrmrest

There were a ton of tamable broodlings up just now on Area 52, they just seemed to spawn when the dailies reset and have been spawning, despawning, and respawning for no apparent reason.

im prolly gonna be staying up past 3am so i'll def make sure to head to the grounds at 3am incase they've spawned (its currently 1:57am)
If they're up when i go there i'll post the quests that are up and maybe if theres no link between em then it might be a time of day or just a certain few days in general

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
To confirm, these little guys really do exist
for those who are still wildly searching for information on them.
I've been hunting Kirix for the last three days, with nothing to show for it but getting it taken away when I couldn't hit tame fast enough and having other hunters come up and strut around me with their catch. Congrats but seriously, a little humbleness would be nice for us still camping.
So, at reset, after sitting for a good 6 hours on my lonely little rock and feeling rather defeated, I figured, why not, I'll check and see if the babies are roaming around since I've heard rumor they do at this time but never seen. I went, saw no brood clutch mothers but no baby spiders either so I went and got my dailies. Wisp Away and Breach the Defenses were the ones I got and when I went back to the Widow's Clutch, they were zigzagging all over the place and around the tower.
After watching them attack me all at once and getting over my shock, I tamed one without problem.

And then, I brought two hunter friends back with me. They were nice enough to give me the next Kirix spawn if he appeared while we were all on so they got baby green spiders too
Keep up the faith!

Just got my Xiela one of these ^^ I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know the connection between these and the quests, but I killed a druid of the flame up in the Widow's Clutch, and a pack of 20 of those came rushing to me.
The quests today, though, was Wisp Away, Traitors Return, Hostile Elements and Burn victims, if that helps any.
