Today has been HORRID for me for rare spawns, I guess that's what I get for getting so lucky on many of them recently.

- Camped Skarr for hours only for the place to FLOOD full of Horde and Alliance alike when he spawns, and then for it to finally be tamed by someone who was there barely an hour.
- Boyfriend has no clue who Deth'tilac is. I tell him it's a big purple spider. Of course he thinks that big, unattackable Nerubian is her so he calls me over. Fail...
- Me and boyfriend go rare hunting in Northrend. Find Aotona, I trap her and he accidentally one shots her.
- Camping Skarr again now since 2 hours after the last tame, it's 3:00 AM, I'm tired, and Alliance have been ganking me the MOMENT my boyfriend went offline after helping me camp...

Sigh. I grabbed Gondria again though, so now my spirit beast spectral kitty collection is complete.

Edit: Karkin spawned at 03:11 AM. Fml.

Introducing Rune (Tamed 11:00pm PST July 4th for fellow Icecrown Campers) … this is the first tame I’ve done in a long time where I have just sat online doing nothing but waiting for NPC Scan to go off. The whole time going “Why I am I here?!” I’ve met some awesome people, missed him once by seconds when I logged off after another hunter landed beside me and I decided I didn’t feel like competing.

This evening I logged in another hunter was in the tree, so I went off to do other things, as we got ready to run a Zul, I flew back to the tree think I’d que up near the spot so I could check when I got back and there was a yellow dot on my map I hover over it and see Ban'thalos. My first thought is a hunter is messing with me, NPCScan is quiet. And then there he is flying around in his emerald beauty. I look at the tree, no one is there. Hands shaking I try to land on the tree, takes me a good half-dozen tries and drop my trap and fly up, he’s out of range. I watch him slowly path around, my trap refreshes so I land and place another. Keeping him targeted, he comes back around hit him, hit deterrence, tame and boom he’s mine! /faint

Thanks to Mizzie and the other hunters that have played nicely this past week, and best wishes for those still trying. My first tame of the patch (yes I know I am slacker) … two more spirit beasts to go.

As for me....I had to tame Solix. There was no way out of it. This was the right spider for Kallimon.

The opposing faction on my servers have figured out that the island there is chock-full of half-afk hunters, and anyone with cooldowns or without can pretty much solo down a hunter in full pvp gear np, so I've dreaded camping Skarr. Well, I got lucky when I eagle-eyed up there and NPCscan gave a positive target, middle of the night tame with no one there but a nice prot pally staring at it.

Promptly forgot that fieroclast is interruptable, so died like a doofus a couple times boggling why fieroclast was going through deterrance. Went and got the haste buff, tamed him, then remembered 2s later that I was supposed to interrupt it. Guess I got jitters




Named him Bismuth after a heavy metal element. Cool stuff that crystallizes into cubes with a rainbow oxide.

Back to camping Skarr since 11:00 AM this morning. I'm on an RPPvP realm, which means that you need to PvP to survive in places like the Molten Front. I may have most of the Season 9 gear, but I ain't no one that does arena and sorts, so the minute some Alliance comes along to look for Skarr too, there's a 8/10 chance I'm gunna get ganked and have to remain dead until they go away. So far I've been lucky enough to have people come, look around for five minutes and then leave, but this BM specced Human hunter seems to refuse to go anywhere. I'm in for a long day...

Edit: He's vanished. I wasn't looking at the screen when he did so I have no clue where he might be but I can't see him at all. Surely Molten Front should be a sanctuary zone...
Edit: 02:17 PM, Karkin spawns. I'm getting tired of this...

Mogria, I named her Osha after the wild woman that Bran encounters in Game of Thrones. It seemed like a pretty name.

I was just talking to another hunter by Karkin's spawn point, offering to rez him cause I thought he was really dead. xD I don't know why someone would be randomly acting dead there, but whatevers. Then, a good friend and guildie of mine, Zurox went ''AMGS RARE!'' ''Which one? '' ''Anth!'' Omg so I jump down and quickly make my way to him. He dies cause he aggro'd it, and I quickly went by the lava pit, that stupid elite was there. I arcane shot Anthriss and quickly jump in the lava pool that the elite was by. I didn't care. I popped Detterence and tamed him all while getting smacked by the elite. Me and Anthriss showed him who's boss. I named Anthriss after the guild who helped me find him.

After reading all yout taming stories, I thought it was time, that I added my own stories.
Yesterday I seemed to have luck. I play on the german EU-server Norgannon.
I logged in around 8.00 a.m. (Servertime) and went to look my usual rounds: the spirit beasts with my blood elf Finduilas, Skarr with my Orc Morga. Well of course there was no hair or feather to be seen. Since I didn't want to leave my Skarr-camping-side on the northern point. I went to look for Deth'tilac with my elf. As I was turning around the corner I saw a huge leg and went all shaky and fluttery. She (for me it's a she) was actually there, alive and no other hunter to be seen. I had read about how to tame her and began my tries. After three resets I was a bit annoyed and didn't think I would ever make it. Then a Pally showed up hit her and got eliminated instantly (well it was deserved!). Then I saw a green dot approaching on my mini-map. Hunter. I panicked. But the Goblin-Lady was quite nice and asked me, if she could help me by sending her pet to cetain death while I'm rezzing mine. She helped me kite Deth and with her help I finally managed to tame her. I was so happy and offered her 500g but she didn't want it and just congratulated me. I offered her my help, if she ever needed it.

After this heartwrecking tame, I decided to give Skarr a scond chance. Logged in, nothing. Two other hunters were camping with me since two days. The Orc told me, that Skarr was tamed the evening before around 9.30 pm. 10 minutes after I had logged off after 6 hours of camping
I logged over to my bloodelf camping Ban'thalos again. I got bored and frustrated, after hearing from a friend that he got killed the evening before by a few Ally guys to avoid him beeing tamed by a Horde (my friend) (how stupid can one be?). Around 10.45 am I logged back to Morga and got the panics. Skarr was sitting on the northern point, where I had been camping. I saw the Orc I had talked to before trying to tame him. But he was in Bm-specc and failed. I thought I could give it a try before the Worgen hunter would see him. I started to tame, but missed to silence his cast and died insantly. I rezzed, healed myself and started again, this time silencing him at the perfect point. Hit tame again, althogh deterrence had cd, ignored his fireballs - and seconds later he was at my side. The stunned Orc whisperd me "How did you do this? I've failed for 20 minutes now" and I told him, that he needs to be MM to interrupt the cast. He thanked me for the advice, congratulated me and went off to skill to MM. The Worgen hunter appeared just seconds later - too late.

In the afternoon I went to look for Karkin with Ruby (Skarr) on my side. I had a small talk with an elf, who told me he was tamed by her just an hour before, when we noticed Karkin sitting on the northern rocks. She already had him, and I didn't want him. So we watched the Worgen hunter failing to tame him five times and were very amused . He tried in Bm, then switched to MM and forgot the silencing shot. It was quite funny to watch him with his "try and error" system. He finally manged it and went off quite proud.
Then I returned to the Hyjal with Morga to look for Magria, Anhka and Ban. No Ban, I went to circle for the cats. I saw severals yellow dots on my map - all from ally druids - then a yellow dot, slightliy different from the others, named Magria. I used my naked-outfit, landed, started to tame - and got killed by a flame-naga trowing fireballs at me. I rezzed, ran after Magria. She was pacing quite slowly around her spawn point in the middle of the Regrowth, hit tame beast again and she finally was mine. A pally congratulated me, no other hunters were in the area at this time (it was around 4 pm and I was really surprised).

I'm attaching pictures of Morga with Ruby and with Magria. I still need a name for her.

I tamed one of the non-rare fire spiders today, the yellow one. There's just too damn many people running around Firelands to get one of the rares on my server right now, so I'm not going to bother yet; plus, it's a gankfest (PVP server), so I can't idle with NPCscan on.

Named her Citraxia, from Citrus with a spidery ending!

Skarr is becoming terribly depressing for me. Karkin is trolling the hell out of me, appearing only when I'm there because he knows what I think of him. And of course as soon as I can't be around camping, due to raiding and what not, Skarr spawns and someone else gets him. As much as I want that pet, I don't think he's made for me...

All will come in time. Especially when more people have them and the fuss dies down a bit.

I finally got something today I'd wanted for a long time: the white maned lion. Having completed the quests for the two that previously existed, and killed them to complete the quests (this was before I realized they were tamable; I had gotten the idea that quest beasts couldn't be tamed from somewhere), I'd given up.

And then yesterday I was randomly reading and discovered that Sian-Rotam was no longer a quest spawn but a rare regular spawn!

I went up there yesterday and he wasn't there; but came back today and, shazam! -- sleeping at the back of the cave underneath Pride Rock (as I call it).

Eventually you'll find the ones you want. Perhaps without having to give up on them like I did with the white lion.

Congrats on your lion! The white and black maned lions are the only lions I really like besides Sambas.

And there's no way I'm giving up, that's not what I do. I learned that from camping Aeonaxx. I told myself NEVER to give up, because if you do, you'll never get what you're after and the time you have spent camping will all be a massive waste. And of course, after so long of telling myself not to give up on Aeonaxx, I got him. So I WILL get Skarr, whether he bloody likes it or not.

I already had the black and he's my second favorite cat after my ghostsaber, but now there's competition!

Right now camping on Terrorpene ... saw him once but a druid killed me so his friend could get there in time to tame it. The competition appears to have died down a bit, though, so I have a chance.
