Deth and Skarr Karma

After reading so many stories of all the rudeness going around since 4.2, I figured I'd share what happened with me yesterday. It goes to show that karma does come back to bite some of them in the butt.

So I found myself home early from work and after dailies decided to go see what Skarr's spot looked like that time of day. No one around when I got there, and I was tired and chatting, so I picked a spawn point and sat for a bit. More hunter's showed up, but I just sat and minded my business as usual. Elemental's kept coming over, but I pretty much ignored the behavior at this point. I wanted a smoke, so FD'd first in case my camping buddies decided to try it again. Well, I get to the door and npc scan went off. lol... I know. Anyway, it's Karkin. I've only got 2 spots left in my stable though, and they're on reserve, so I get ready to move, but no, the dwarf decides to kill everyone with his pull before he tames. Aah well, I wanted a smoke anyway, so I go do that before I rez and go back. At least now I know the timer.

Over the course of the next 6 hours I saw every rare come up in Molten Front one at a time. The little dwarf stole a few, killed himself several times, etc, etc. Whatever. Over the course of this time I meet multiple hunters and druids.(I think they were along to help with Deth if he was up maybe?) All but a single troll and worgen were as rude as they come. Everyone else engaged heavily in trying to drag all the elementals on top of other campers, often killing themselves in the process by falling over the edge of FD'ing at the last second. Why they try this I dunno. If I go afk, I FD first anyway, and if I'm there you know I'm going to hit it, so why bother? Several tried this to me and others all day, including a nelf who then pretended they didn't know what spawned there for a few moments. Promptly changing to I'm just gonna kill the cat or the crab when I think they realized I was going to continue to ignore them.

Anyway, my GM logs on around the time the nelf is harrassing me, he's been camping Skarr all week. I already have all the new SB's and honestly Skarr would be nice but I would rather my friend get the one he wants first. I can come back later. But I remain to keep him company, still keeping eagle eye up to check for Deth. Well at about 6 hours after Karkin, Deth pops up. So I jump down and whisper my buddy while on auto run and rush over. I pull and end up fumbling with my concuss, forgot my snake trap completely and went to rez pet. She resets. Pet rezzes and I send pet in again. Before pet hits, another hunter comes rushing in on mount and engages. At first I thought it was my buddy who was also a nelf.... Until I see the crocolisk pet that I know isn't his. Then there's my buddie's pet, k, he made it. Well, I assume the worst but hope this is an act of helping, all the while knowing better considering my server. At 20% I realize there's still 3 pets on him. I panic, dismiss and start trying to tame, playing a yoyo game with aggro now. Death strike and another pet down, I try I think 3 more times, forgetting to back up mind you.... and on 3rd try it takes right before I'm fairly certain Deth killed me and herself. Now the other hunter starts accusing me of stealing their tame..... I as politely as possible inform them to look in the mirror for the would be thief and my friend and I head back to Skarr's spot as time is drawing right at the 6 hour mark. (I'm hoping at this point my excitement for the only spider I wanted didn't cause him to miss his chance.)

We arrive to see the typical mayhem of people dragging elementals over each other, nasty emotes and says, blah blah blah. He goes to his spot, I go to mine, taking note the worgen is back again sitting on his usual rock in wait. Well, now the tauren comes back. This particular tauren seemed to enjoy setting off people's npc scan with her collection of MF rares to include Deth. Although this time she didn't bother as I had forgotten to dismiss my latest addition until I got back up there. My friend said he needed to log for a bit, but would be back later on in the night. I sit again and watch the mayhem as all the idiots fight with elementals. The 3 hunters fighting finally give me a good laugh when they apparently didn't notice something and all launched themselves over the cliff. I giggled a bit. Then the tauren mounted up and jumped across as they had done several times I assume to make their rounds.

Right about that time the tauren landed, NPC scan went off... but he wasn't in front of me. So I run over to where he is Just in time to see another hunter fall to their death.... Now it's just me and that one worgen left. You know, the one I said was actually minding their manners. So I jump over to the rock to watch and assist with a silence if he needs it. But the guy is just standing there, not moving. Skarr is directly below him and although it's obvious he moved into position at the edge of the rock, he's not doing anything. Then the worgen just fades away. I don't know if he DC'd or accepted when a dungeon popped, but he was gone.

I look around.... it's just me and Skarr now.... Utter mayhem all day long and now I find myself staring at the cat that was bringing out the worst of everyone. And we were utterly alone together. Took me a second to get los right, I was afraid to jump down and kill myself like the other guy had. And I knew someone had to be trying to get past the fire as I stood there in a mad dash to come tame. But, I took my time, got it just right and hit tame, there's the cast, hit silence, then hit my tame macro. It seemed like an eternity, but the cast bar finished and the kitty's name turned blue..... and I just stood there. "Did that really just happen?" Look again, yep there's my new "cat".

I couldn't help it, I giggled a bit when I went over how that transpired in my head. I simultaneously felt bad for my friend who had missed his pet by minutes, and pondered what on earth happened with the worgen who disappeared. I "who" checked him to see why on earth he just stood there, but he was offline. What a horrible time for a DC if that's what it was. But, I had no reason to hang around and hearthed back home with new kitty in tow. I'm still surprised that transpired the way it did. If I didn't know better I'd say Skarr was behind that the whole time.... Anyway, I named him Onyx. Still don't know what to name Deth though.

lol lovely story.. I get amused too when rares kill non hunters thinking they can solo them LOL..

I almost got him just now but screwed up my tame and got killed! I let another hunter try and he succeeded; he gave me a thousand gold for it, though -- didn't ask for it, but he insisted.
