Skarr! (and the rest of the 4.2 family)

Not necessarily camped but visited molten front many times for several days. The first day I was there I saw Skarr and so many hunters (alliance and horde) were there. This was before the hotfix of distract and all that was put in. So many people were all trying to get him at once he actually ended up despawning. So just about an hour ago I am making my rounds and bam, npcfinder goes off. I scurry over and there he is and 2 rocks over a dead hordie. Shoot, silence, deterence, tame. MINE!

On a side note I have tamed Anthriss twice (no one else was around), Kirix once, Magria once (my new pet of choice), killed on accident Skitterflame AND Solix. So bummed about Solix. I know the method to Solix, just got unlucky.

I saw and tried to tame Ban'thalos..... in my MM spec. God I felt so noobish after figuring it out after dieing 5 times and watching a horde get it. Helped a buddy tame Deth'tilac.

It's been a fun week.

Skarr doesn't despawn...when live. His corpse, however, despawns very quickly in my (unfortunate) experience.

This was definitely before they hotfixed DS and I know I saw him disappear. I suppose I could have just missed seeing him show up if someone tamed him.

Thank you. I doubt I will ever end up using some of these. I just appreciate the challenge and like to do it. The crab was stupid easy. I got that 100% haste buff, silenced, deterence/tame macro and was done before it got it's next cast off. Deth'tilac, I had a priest friend come help me with mind flay, a few other people showed up randomly including opposing faction and everyone helped. Ban'thalos I happened to be in a Firelands raid group waiting for a healer to be found and was just flying around looking for Anhka. I had another healer come with me and overheal me after I dropped like a rock from the sky aggroing him. Froze him and that was that.

Last 2 I am going for is Solix and Anhka.

Grats on your tame. On my server, Skarr is perma-camped. Lines of hunters all day and night. You'd think there was a Crispy Creme open on that rock. One day!

I think the only way Skarr could have "despawned" is if someone tamed him, but died the moment the tame went off. But gz on all your tames!

Logged in about 5 am realm time to do a few things before bed time. I had left myself around where Magria and Anhka spawn and lo and behold the last rare I need (Anhka) is just strolling about. Strip, deterence, tame, celebrate. Not 10 seconds after I tamed it 2 other hutners show up. Just some real lucky timing on my part.

I finally found Skarr and then the server went down for maintenance! NOOOO! What are the chances he'll still be there when it comes back up?
I hope he never despawns like some say!

Since this topic is about Skarr, I thought I'd share my Skarr story.

A couple of nights ago I wandered into the The Molten Front to see if Skarr had spawned. I got myself over to where he spawns and there he is in all of his glory. Along with me there were also two Horde hunters (a Blood Elf and a Troll). The Blood Elf was trying to get Skarr and the Troll was there to make sure no one else did.

The Blood Elf made an attempt at a tame and was promplty two shotted by Skarr. I then thougth it was my turn; however, right after I stared my tame, the Troll walked up beside me and began shooting at Skarr, which broke my tame and Skarr killed me. I headed back to my body and rezzed.

As you all know, Horde and Alliance can't openly talk to one another in chat but I used the /me command to ask the Troll if I would get shot at a tame. He promply answered, "No. Not gonna happen."

Ok, I see how it is. The Troll is there to make sure his Blood Elf buddy gets a new pet. I can appreciate that and I like to see players helping each other (especially hunters). The Blood Elf proceeded to make six additional attempts at taming Skarr with no success. After his last try I thought they might give up and go away; however, they began attacking Skarr and killed him so no one else could try to tame him. After killing Skarr the Troll /spit on me to which I said, "Suck it!". After that they both hearthed out.

Fast forward to Tuesday night (3/21) and I am back in The Molten Front looking for Skarr. When I arrive at the spawn point he's not there, as usual. I said, "good nite" to my guild and began to exit game. While the "exiting game" timer was counting down, all of a sudden I see something in the background. I cancel my log out and what do I see standing on a plaform? It's Skarr!!! I had done my research on taming Skarr, so I was ready. Long story a bit shorter, after two tries I tamed him and added him to my family of pets.

I've never been one to hold a grudge against the Horde; HOWEVER, seeing two hunters kill a rare spawn tameable cat is an outrage!!! They should have their hunting licenses' revoked!!

I was going to "out" these two, terrible examples of hunters, but I don't want to drop to their level and be accused anything improper. These two players are the ones we hunters complain about. Namely, those players that would kill a rare spawn rather than let someone else tame it. I don't know if I will ever see them again but I have the satisfaction of knowing that I claimed my prize in spite of their efforts.

I've had some good Skarr stories.

Got mine this past Christmas eve. Helped a random horde hunter tame Karkin, and I took note of the time. During the next 6 hours that I camped (shoot me) I tamed Anthriss and Skitterflame. 6 hours on the dot after the taming of Karkin, Skarr pops up. Since I was the only one in Molten Front at the time, he was all mine. I got killed once, then tamed him.

Helped a good friend of mine get Skarr as well. Though there was a worgen hunter dying to him multiple times. Got my friend to rock hop and get the haste buff,. bam he got a new pet, at which time the worgen hunter started spazzing and flagged. As we all now, red is dead... she got killed a few times, killed us a few times. Fun by all. she eventually waited out her flag and hearthed.

i can say that until mists is in full release i have all the pets that i want now. my best day at taming was to get Loque, Karoma, Sambas, Magria, & Banth in the same day (think i was really lucky that day).

i have all the current spirit beasts, the rares from MF, the white lion (used a horde alt to summon for me), & the ghost saber that i leveled from 19 to almost 80 with.

i also went back & tamed Olm then i have a shale spider & terrorpene to round out my stable.
