I wanna face palm so much today....

People who don't play hunters seem to take a perverse pleasure in denying the tame to hunters. The leading raiding guild on my server actually went ahead and killed Karkin while there were about 3 hunters of the same faction trying to tame him in turns. The hunters weren't griefing each others' tames but it seemed like they didn't know how to go about taming him and would constantly die. Then the GM of the raiding guild comes along with two of his guildmates and proceed to kill Karkin....guess they thought it was "lulz" to kill a rare that hunters were trying to tame. It's a shame really since even though I was the opposite faction of everyone there, I didn't grief the hunters by botching their taming attempts, but those of their own faction did.

When I camped Deth I sat there for 11 hours straight. Every 15-20 minutes or so this Nelf hunter came riding, pulled out his Deth to set off NPC-scan and proceed to /point /laugh /rofl at me, then rode off again. After a while another Nelf started to do the exact same thing. Over and over. Some other hunters and a priest ride up to the spot, and they start dueling eachother and stuffs and then Deth spawns!

I tag it and start the kite and it's going somewhat well for a small period of time, then the douchebag-Nelfs starts MD him to a third hunter. Needless to say I lost the tame.

I came back 6 hours later and continue to camp, it's calm and nice for two hours but then guess what. NPC-scan goes off and there is one of the Nelfs again and his tamed spider and stupid priestbuddy. Just like yesterday he comes up every now and then to rude me and f**k up my NPC-scan. I sit there for 7 hours and of course he just came back for another go when Deth spawns.

This time I care not so much to kite as to unleash everything I have on it to hold aggro. I use every skill I got and kite away. Douche and priest is already beating on it and another hunter joins in. I loose aggro to the priest over and over and Deth's hp is dropping alarmingly fast. Now a horde druid shows up and is trying to help me by rooting it, I unleash everything I got, Deth does a Deth Strike, I realize I have aggro and Molten will dropped.

I hit tame beast and in horror I watch the poor spider who is now on 9% hp. I dont have that much haste. The doucheparty is charging him to make him die. The time has stopped or so it feels, I mean I swear that tame beast bar wasn't moving anymore and finally the tame completes and the spider shrinks.

I thank the druid, make some not so nice emotes to hunterdouche and co and ride off. I honestly don't want to enter that zone again for some good time.

Nice epic story! I hope that perhaps in another month or so people will stop being AS mean about these newer rares. I hope at least

For some reason I've noticed some people just *really* hate hunters in a way I rarely see for other classes.

Yeah, I notice that too.

On the other hand, I'm not that good a player and I'm regularly in the top 3 in any battleground for killing blows and damage done. Hunters are damn lethal at range -- I think that's probably part of what the hate is about.

1) This world is filled with lots of people, most of them are jerks. It's the sad truth, I think. Most people look out for number one and aren't afraid to step on whoever they need to to do so. Anonymity makes this a million times worse.

2) People hate hunters, in my opinion, because many new players starting out will pick hunters. I did. They are learning the game, don't know the ins and outs, and end up looking quite noobish to the "pros" who have been playing for six years. Then this whole cutesy nickname "huntard" came about, and it kind of stuck. So now, every hunter someone sees is almost automatically a "huntard" until proven otherwise. I think that just tends to make people extra mean to them.

I don't understand it, either, and the amount of jerks in this game is one of the things that made me lose interest in it. I deal with buttholes enough in the real world, I don't need it during my relaxation time, too.

I know I've mentioned it somewhere before, but I think a lot of the hunter backlash stems from jealousy. :s

We did get pets supposedly put in game "just for hunters", after all.

That's true, but there are classes who get mounts (free!), epic weapons and things like that.
