"Just hold on like...five minutes!" I whined. "I'm going to do just one circle and then head back, it won't take long at all."
I turned my bronze drake towards Zol'Maz Stronghold and kept a keen eye on Beast Tracking. My heart sank a little when all the map revealed was a bear resting at the bottom of the stairs. I continued southeast to the opposite side of the stairs near the Altar of Mam'toth, and was greeted by trolls atop their bats. Frowning, I headed south of the Altar of Quetz'lun and steered my bronze drake through the trees that peppered the snowy landscape. Plenty of snow leopards stalked about, but still no Gondria. Now perhaps pouting a bit by this point, I pursued my route southwest, to the fields just east of Kolramas. Har'koa's cursed offspring skulked, their red eyes studying me as my drake glided past. Gondria was still nowhere in sight. Sighing now, I made my way northwest back to Zim'Torga, to take the flight path back to Dalaran to meet with my husband. Red dots sprinkled my mini-map, and I started to artfully guide my bronze drake through the thorny bushes, when, to my excitement, a yellow dot appeared on my mini-map in a place there should be none! It was Gondria!!! I swiftly landed and abandoned my wind serpent, Blaze (I love wind serpents but my craving for a new hunt was too strong to ignore, and none of my other pets can be released). I placed my freezing trap, opened up with a concussive shot, and began the tame. Crap, I'm too far behind the trap, she's going to pounce right over it! Sure enough, she did. But somehow, the trap still triggered and she landed in a solid block of ice right on top of me. The seconds ticked by at a grueling pace, but finally, that great purple tiger was mine! As soon as the tame was complete, we were attacked by two snow leopards, which my new friend and I quickly dispatched.
Now, I know they say Loque'nahak has an awesome roar, and he does, but Gondria's roar is equally beautiful! She doesn't have a typical cat noise, it's a long, echoing kind of roar and it's very neat. While I'm almost ashamed to say it, Gondria is very quickly becoming my favorite spirit beast. Loque'nahak is very neat, I don't want to take anything away from him, but there are still oddities about him that bother me a little sometimes (the gaping mouth, the very deep chest, I don't really like the color teal, etc.). But Gondria...she's a beauty. I love the color purple, I love the swirly substance that dances off her back, I love the puddles she leaves on the ground as she steps, I love her roar, and I love her glowy green eyes. I don't even like the translucent animals for the most part but I'm falling in love with this one. She clicks with me in a way that Loque'nahak has not.
She only took I think three nights to find, totalling maybe half an hour. I made one circle each night, perhaps two last night, and that was it. I wasn't really hunting for her, and I wasn't going to camp, it was more of a curious search (that had been becoming more of an obsession than I was willing to admit, and left to my own devices, I probably would have found myself camping her soon enough).
I haven't thought of a name yet, but I'm working on it. And, here is a pic of my new spirit beast! Tamed at roughly...crap...12:30-12:40 a.m., somewhere in there. That makes it possibly 12 hours after server maintenance? /shrug Like I said, I wasn't paying attention to details.
