I was sitting up at his northen most spawing point, and after a couple of false alarms (people getting out their Skarr on purpose to fudge with my NPCscan), he popped up....on the rocks below!

I slowly and sadly made my way back to my body, expecting to see him tamed... Wait, what's this?! He's still up?! And no returning hunter in sight... He'd died before me, and I'd made my way back slowly, dejectedly, and expecting to find no cat.
Didn't have time to think about it too much! There was Skarr! Alive! Untamed! Stacks fallen off!
I specced MM especially for the tame. I didn't want to risk it with BM/Survival but have since gone back to this combo. I just don't like MM. Hit tame, waited for him to start casting barrage and silenced, deterrenced and hit tame again. Mine. Easy.
Only for the original hunter to show up a minute later and chew me out for "stealing [their] tame".
I felt bad for the guy, but honestly. This is the most sort after pet in the game at the moment. I too had been camping (albeit in a different spot, I was still camping the same creature), he had died and seemingly not returned, many other hunters were in the zone... Would this guy have waited for me had he spawned up top and I had vanished? Unlikely.
I named her Ruby, as people have been calling her the Gem Metal Cat or Gem Cat, and 'cause she has red eyes.
