Obligatory "Where are you, rare pets?" Magic Luck Thread

I decided I really couldn't justify waiting for Ankha. I love my Magria and I won't take her from someone else who would love Ankha but hasn't been fortunate enough to get either.

So magic thread let Ankha and Magria find good homes on my server. Time to find something else to obsess over! lol

Do what I do when I run out of pets to camp... I obsess over my UI and over getting random achievements. xD

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! This thread is magic, seriously!

I had logged off awhile ago, and was getting kind of sleepy, but I figured I'd log in for a few minutes to fly over and look for Terrorpene, and if he wasn't up, I'd just go to bed. So I clear my cache, log in, port to Hyjal, and start flying down to his spawn point. I clicked off my flask so that I could put up my resistance/haste elixirs just incase. RIGHT as I get to the lava, my NPC Scan starts yelling at me, and I see Terrorpene's portrait and just freeze because it can't possibly be true.

I targeted him and frantically dismounted, hit my Ancient Hysteria/dismiss corehound macro, and then mashed my tame button. His name turned friendly as he shrunk before the cast bar even got halfway through. HE'S FINALLY MINE! ^________^

I sat there for awhile in utter amazement, and it's a good thing I did. About 15 minutes later, a priest announced in General that Ankha was up. I already had a naked macro from taming Magria, so I was able to get there before anyone else.

Two rare pets in 15 minutes! Thank you Magic Thread. Now I'd like to spread some of that awesome luck to my fellow rare camping hunters. ^_^

Thank you! I still can't even believe my luck. I've definitely walked into rares by accident before, but I'd been camping Terrorpene for like two weeks before this. It's just weird how the one time I decided "Meh, I guess I'll go check" instead of "I'M SITTING HERE UNTIL HE SPAWNS!" I end up finding him. xD

It happened the same way with Sambas too. I had been camping him for like a month straight and had yet to see him. I started playing my Pally alt and sort of gave up on Sambas. Then the patch came out and I picked my hunter up again, and figured I'd port to Twilight Highlands and see if I could find Sambas. I got to the third spawn point on the map and there he was. ^_^

Honestly, if you have the time, Just sit at their little Yellow tree until you get the spawn. I did that, and helped my friend tame the Magria Spawn (Ankha refuses to spawn on our server... I've never even seen him tamed.)

Terrorpene definitely seems like a shy little guy. :3 I'm sure that's made worse now by the fact that everyone is constantly flying over there to do Firelands, so I'm sure he gets killed a lot more than he used to due to people seeing him and not knowing that he doesn't drop anything. ;_;

I've NEVER seen anyone with Ankha on my server, and I'm on a super high pop server. Magria seems to be a lot more common on most servers. I saw someone announce Magria was up in general chat like the day of the patch, I tamed her a couple days later after just flying over her and getting lucky, and then I rehomed a third to a nice hunter who talked to me while we both looked around for Skarr.

That Ankha I tamed was the first one I've ever seen so she must be shy. xD

Well. Maybe a Banthalos or a Karkin might be nice. I dunno what I am going to do with all these critters but ... Why does this keep happening? I always find reasons to love new critters I thought I would not.

Ohhh Novi you and I should be friends...I thought I was done after Skoll and Arcturis, and then after OCJ, and then after..... it never ends. I demand more stable slots!

I use my Terrorpene, Paradoxy (named after my boyfriend's retired tank) every single day! We need our pets to write testimonials for us or something.

I mean, 2 hours isn't that long to camp for a rare...but that's all I had time for.


And seen ban'thalos three times already (while doing dailies)...I don't want more of him.

Oh ankha, where r u? ive patiently waited thru rain and sun n u avoid me, for hrs and hrs, cut back on sleep. Have seen many of ur brethren magrias find new homes, saved em from evil horde and alliance non hunters trying to kill em.

having not even seen u with other hunters, only magria and banty apear, having them both already but u ankha, u will are my final wish to complete my spirit beast euphorian realm of dreams.

just a signal, and i will be there as my addon is clean since no one has seen u ankha and not once have u been cahed on my addon.

just a chance, is all i need to prove to u i am worthy of being ur new friend

I guess we should just write up resumes and list our pets as references. They'll defend me and tell the other rares about all the cookies they'll get if they come out and let me tame them. xD

Even with pet happiness gone, I still give all my pets cookies for no reason.

You are definitely magic. I got my Deathmaw after reading you, and my Ankha just spawned. My macro was broken and I almost died taming her....but she's home. HOWEVER, I feel so guilty because I wanted my friend to get his big blue kitty first. He deserves it, after camping 17 days for her. Please bring him a kitty. I've never felt so bad about seeing the rarespawn I wanted. Ever.

Thank you! She is beautiful, but I don't want to take her out and play with her yet because I know so many people are still waiting for their kitties. I waited with my friend most of the night and by the time she spawned I was hoping it would be a bright blue kitty instead. Guiltiest tame of my life.
