Deth's death - A hunter's loss - UPDATE!

I was on my orc hunter, doing the Shadow Warden dailies, saw a dot on my map, checked it out and it was Deth'tilac. Now, I already have him, so I put it up in general. A female blood elf rushed over and started to kite him. I told her I was getting on my DK to help. So I did and kept him rooted while she dps'd him to tamable health. When he was ready, some complete ahole Night Elf rushes in and kills Deth, even tho I begged her not to, that this was my friend I was helping, but no, she HAD to kill him because in her words "if I can't have it, she's not, and she's horde, you're a traitor!"

So I log back to my hunter, to see general full of people wanting to report the night elf for what she had done. I readily gave them her name and guild, etc and needless to say, horde was NOT happy with alliance that night. About 4 other horde hunters were watching her try and tame Deth and were, kindly, doing nothing. Only the alliance hunter was killing him while she was taming him.

Alas, Deth died because of petty jealousy and alliance children again. When will this be fixed? I HATE HATE HATE seeing rares killed, even moreso Deth'tilac because he is so hard to tame due to situations like this.

I feel ya. I think this should be a fairly easy fix. When you engage a tamable rarespawn, you and the rarespawn both gain a buff... We can call it "Beast Master's Trial", which makes you and the beast both green to everyone except those in your party. That way you can get assistance with a hard tame, but you and the pet both are immune to alligance and horde damage until the end of the tame. Once you leave combat, all returns to normal.

That fix would do wonderfully. It would stop me being able to help other horde hunters using my DK, but it definitely would stop a lot of this shit from happening and stopping the hunter from engaging in the HUNTER challenge tame meant for the HUNTER that tagged it, not for some jealous little kid with a huge epeen.

Had Deth killed out from under me tonight by a jerk of a tauren warrior tonight. Jerk laughed after he killed the tame I was after too. Almost had Deth, but that danged horde just decided to kill him because I was alliance as far as I can tell..

This story was depressing Sara, and that darn nelf gave both my faction and preferred race a bad name!

Why couldn't that nelf see it as one less hunter to worry about for competition, or for that matter cheer them on, instead of the old "If I can't have it, no one can" two year old mentality. You know what? I think even a two year old would be better mannered. Evil evil nelf!

I was not surprised to see this.. it happened to me a lot! We camped Deth for hours and when he popped, we started kiting and dpsing to bring him down.. then right as I was about to hit tame, another hunter came up and started shooting it, pulled it out of tame range, and killed it.
He was same faction as us (horde) and never would reply as to why he did that.

Then, the second night, we camped again, and Deth pops.. we start kiting/dpsing.. I died because well, I'm a noob.. but anyway.. I run back and hit tame as a friend is holding him off for me.
And right as I hit tame..a NE hunter starts shooting Deth Deth falls over dead and the NE hunter says "BUR" in /say (translation is "LOL" I think) and runs off.

If he had tamed, I would have totally understood, I did die after-all making it fair game, but to kill it?? I don't understand o.o

THEN.. I see banth up just flying around and looking all lonely, so I ask a few hunters in the area.
A horde hunter comes and we start to pull him down since the guy kept missing landing in the tree and going splat.. we pull banth to the ground and an alliance rogue and a mage start killing it as the guy was taming.
Banth falls over dead.. I jump on my alliance ambassador and ask them "why?" their reply "I'd rather see that thing dead than go to horde piece of sh*t and anytime I ever see a horde trying to get it, I'll f***ing kill it again and again lol"

Oh and THEN... I was camping magria.. she popped.. heart pounding I make my way to her and strip.. I start my tame.. I have about 2% left when a human comes up and hits her pulling aggro then she starts trying to tame. I spam tame beast over and over, a hunter friend strips and punches magria, pulling her away from the human. I hit tame beast again, the human puts her cloths back on and starts shooting magria.. she got aggro from behind by a destroyer and dies. We track magria back to the right side of the screen and I spam tame and grab her before the human comes back (yay!)
I sent the human a tell and asked why she stopped me mid-tame? Her reply "your horde, I'm alliance. I don't respect any horde player."

I swear that patch 4.2 should have been dubbed "The douche-bag patch".
For the love of god, Blizzard.. PLEASE fix this!
A claimed mob should be untouchable or tameable except to party members unless they wipe.
Like in FFXI!

Yes, it will be hotfixed. But we don't know WHEN this will happen. By the time it does, either no one will care or everyone will have gotten their pets. This is definitely the douchebag patch for both factions. I use my alliance death knight to help horde tame the spiders that need kiting all the time, so I have no problem helping the other factions. Its just when they act like 2 year olds and claim that they killed the mob simply because it was being tamed by the other faction...that's just childish and rude.

My main is an orc huntress. But I do not go out of my way to ever kill anything an alliance player is taming, unless I know this person is someone who has previously ganked a tame or killed a mob from me or someone else. Then, its payback time. Karma comes for you, in the end.

I just want to point out that it really doesnt matter which faction you are really. Each of us has our own trouble makers on each side.

My Skarr tame. During the -entire- camping process I was harassed by horde constantly. For doing nothing but sitting there. Had a Troll Boomkin who loved to find me just to knock me off the cliffs so I'd have an even longer time to run back to my body and get back into place. And the countless other horde hunters who loved attacking me just to get me to move.

My Banny tame, harassed by horde the entire time nearly. Luckily enough the NPCs still aggroed while I was sitting in the tree. And then MID-TAME with my Banny, a Undead hunter decides to try to steal. But sadly for some reason she didnt think of actually trying to hit me with a shot that would interrupt my tame. So instead she just kept shooting at me from the hill.

Solix. I was standing there getting ready to tame. BE Hunter walks in, sees me getting ready to start kiting, shoots it without slowing it. Dies. He then rezzes to see me kiting it. So while I was bringing down its energy, he kept shooting at me. Made me mess up the entire process of taming this guy, I ended up accidently killing him instead with a frost trap because he BE hunter was trying his best to get rid of me even though I was obviously there first.

And then, even after I had already gotten Skarr. I walked up there to do my dalies, and just about any horde hunter in that remote spot sees me and instantly starts killing me. Not even seeing if I am going to mess with them or not. Just kills me.

All in all it doesnt matter WHAT faction it is. "Alliance Children" or "Horde A-Holes". We all have our "children" on either side of the faction. Ive ment just as many on Horde as I have on alliance. There is absolutely no difference what so ever.

Yes, faction does not matter. As I have said multiple times, I play both sides equally. Both have their assholes and douchebags. On my server, Runetotem, most of those just happen to be alliance, to my embarrassment. It makes me ashamed to have four alliance 85s. During this incident, at first, people were saying I was helping the night elf kill Deth, which was NOT the case, as I had told the BElf that was going for Deth before logging to my ally. They threatened to report ME, even though all I was doing was trying to help. I was even making emotes at the BElf the entire time, saying charge, ready, etc, but it didn't work, and I still got myself cussed out for trying to help. You can't win no matter what faction you play, even if you help. People are biased. I favor horde, personally, but I still do like alliance lore, races, cities, etc. Nothing is going to make me give up my alliance toons. There are plenty mature people on alliance side, just as there are plenty of children horde side.

This case just happened to involve an alliance child having a tantrum, that's all.

Agreed. There are idiots on both sides. I pride myself on being rather neutral. I have helped both horde and alliance tame rares, and continue to help either side.
Us hunters who are truly fond of our pets and the tame just need to seek one another out regardless of faction and do what we can to help each other.

Same here I always try to help I already helped 2 hunters getting there deth. even other hunters helped so I guess hunters are pretty oke on our server. but there are definitely dome non-hunter douches on our server just killing the rare pets for fun.

if someone messes me over when I am in the middle of a tame. which up till now only happened once then I will mess up one of there tames too (not by killing the pet but by killing the hunter or letting the pet kill them )

I had it happen on Kirix,
I saw that Kirix spawned and was ready to pull and tame , mind you there was no other hunter in sight. Then suddenly when the tame was almost done I get killed by a hunter who just came riding in. So I was there in spirit form waiting for him to pull and start the tame when the tame was almost completed I scatter shotted his sorry ass and he died from the kirix poison XD. after that i guess he or she got the point and we just took turns in trying and he dint even come close in taming and kept dying. I went away to repair kinda expecting Kirix to be gone. But when I came back behold Kirix was still alive and the other hunter was nowhere to be seen, guess he gave up. so I kept trying and in the end I got it.

I was helping a horde hunter tame Deth earlier. ( I already had mine ) Deth had about 10% left. I guess some jealous IDIOT thinks that he can't get enough aggro before the hunter's tame completes, sends in pet, pet taunts, Deth uses Deth strike and falls down dead. I felt so bad cause I remember my Deth tame with 10 other hunters trying to get aggro on him, it made me really nervous.

This tale ends on a happy note, thankfully. I logged on, Deth was on top of me (I had just logged off for the night after the debacle last night) so I alerted the same female BElf. She happily rushed over, but was worried about alliance gankers. She brought a whole troop with her this time, so I didn't use my DK cuz she had her own this time and we easily dps'd him down fast and she got her happy purple spider. She even named her after me. I must say, my poor little Sharess took quite a few Death strikes pulling aggro off Midst so she could run. Kitty seems pretty happy though. Guess she likes a happy ending as much as the next person/animal thing.

im glad the belf got the pet. i was taming terrorpene and there was a blood elf mage right there. she watched, she cheered when i got it, i signed onto my belf to thank her, and we became friends instantly. very nice person who didnt steal my tame cause im a night elf. im very thankful
