Gemming a BM hunter

So what should I be Gemming as a BM hunter? You can check out my fail hunter Taser on Rexxar but I have been told so many different things and have gemmed and re gemmed I just want to get this down so I can be non fail

Well, It's traditionally Been that BM=Ap, MM=ArP, and SV=Agi, however... According to a topic I've seen (the topic/article/website eludes me atm) It might be in a BM's interest to Stack ArP, after reaching a Passive ArP (no gems) of 400 or more. Then eventually Dropping Arcane Shot, only MUCH MUCH later/with more ArP than a MM does. So I'd say if you have more than 400 straight ArP off of gear alone, then start gemming for that, however, if not, stick with AP. Also, the three don't make a huge difference, so if you have one of these three, then don't feel like you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to switch it out for ArP... more than likely you'll be fine.

ArP doesn't start to make a massive difference until you can get a lot of it. And then you're basically trading in your pet's damage for your damage, BUT the way the game is structured at the moment, that's the only way to start catching up. Blame it on pet stat conversion. To clarify, if you are in ICC10 or 25 man content, start stacking ArP. IF you are below that, AP.

My armpen is 552 is this enough or do I need more?

At that, Yes, start gemming for ArP, but I'm not entirely sure when you actually DROP arcane shot... It'll be later than that though.

No, do not gem for ArP. I am unsure for BM, but with MM you don't gem for ArP until you have 800 or more on your gear alone for it to be any of a dps increase. Since pets do not gain anything from ArP, I would recommend staying with AP gems only unless you are in full ICC 25 man gear.

As for dropping arcane shot, check your character on www.femaledwarf.com with and without arcane shot in your rotation to see if it would be an increase of dps or not.

Last time I checked MM, it was anywhere from 450-500... And I KNOW for a fact that I read a Site that said start stacking ArP as a BM at 400. The site said that you should be able to start stacking ArP/ ArP gems sooner than MM, but had to wait later than MM to drop Arcane Shot from the rotation.
