Any suggestions? This is my hunter and I really want to be able to pull more dps right now I am pulling 3k and other hunters are pulling 6k+ what have I done wrong? I am mostly using my BM spec now.

For starters you're way over your hitcap. Try to get rid of some hitrating. Try to get some tiergear too, the setbonuses are quite awesome.

And your spec seems OK, but if you want to be competitive I'm afraid you'll have to go MM. BM just is'nt anywhere near MM with the wolfie I'm afraid. Check out the BM guide tough, it might help you better than I can, since I've always been MM, even when SV was the thing.

Thanks I re did some gems and with raid buffs tonight I was pulling almost 4k I have Survival spec but really like BM

You can definitely pull massive numbers with BM. It's true that MM is on top, but after the last patch SV and BM are very close. The best dps pet for BM is a devilsaur.

I agree with Saturo that you should get the tier items. 4t9 is great for BM hunters.

That being said, many things can affect your dps, beyond gear and spec. Your latency may make it impossible for you to fire when your cooldowns (or GCD) are up, you may be weaving your shots wrong, perhaps you don't pop your trinkets, or you don't take advantage of kill command and BW every time you have the chance... I don't mean you specifically, Huntress, I mean in general. I play on a macbook over a wireless network, and I know I'll not be one of those hunters putting out insane numbers. I just don't have the equipment for that. You know what I mean?

Anyway. There's a great BM guide on these forums, and you can learn a lot from reading blogs like outdps or going through the elitist jerks threads on BM.

Replace at least your chest and leg pieces with T-9. You WANT that two piece set bonus, no matter what your spec, it makes serpent stings damage go WAY up. I'd say two points in GftT, but that's a personal opinion. Drop the glyph of serpent sting and pick up the glyph of beastial wrath. Use beastial wrath EVERY COOLDOWN. San's just before bosses. Make sure BW is ready for bosses. Consider flipping out those gauntlets for something else. Even if it's a slightly lower ilvl, the itemization for resilience being spent on other stats should make it worthwhile.

Actually, do NOT drop glyph of Serpent Sting. It's still one of the best DPS glyphs for BM because the extra time means you can get off an extra shot instead of having to refresh it earlier. Typically you should run Serpent Sting and Steady Shot glyphs for sure. After that either run the BW glyph and only fire off Kill Command when BW is up(since they'll be close to in sync), or run the Hawk or Kill Shot glyph, as both are pretty worthwhile now as BM as well.

I completely disagree, Sharilar. I realize you are probably going off what you've heard in Elistist jerk or the what have you, but we are talking about instances here, and not raids. And even in raids I'd argue for Beastial Wrath over Hawk or Kill shot. Hawk will just push our already haste rating a little higher, and Kill shot is only really useful on bosses, and not even that useful then. More so in raids, since they'll spend more time in the zone for Kill shot, but I still think it's debatable. Beastial Wrath will at LEAST let you use your go-to ability a few more times over the course of a heroic, and ANYTHING that lowers the cooldown on our 'big' ability is insanely useful. And that six seconds on serpent sting is useful, but it isn't make or break. Just time your serpent stings for when you don't have another instant shot on cooldown, even if you have to clip it a little.

He's talking about raids actually, from what he said in the OP and first response. I'm running the BW glyph myself still because of how it syncs up BW and KC nicely(and that's the only reason I haven't already swapped to Hawk glyph), but the math from the tools we have(spreadsheet and femaledwarf.com) does suggest that the Kill Shot or Hawk glyphs can add a bigger boost since the BW duration got dropped to 10 sec instead of 18.

As far as the serpent sting thing, if you refresh SrS every time it drops you have to do it in a 5 minute fight:
w/glyph: ~15 times
w/o glyph: 20 times
So that's 5 more shots. Of whatever. It also means more damage in situations where you can fire and forget, like Deathwhisper or Deathbringer in ICC for example. The extra 6 seconds means a few more ticks while you're off beating on their adds. If he WAS to replace it with something, the only currently unused alternative I could find that was an increase is Kill Shot, and it was only a single-digit increase at that. (Hawk would also be an increase, but he's already running it.)
