Ugh just seen Banhy & of course I couldn't land on the freaking tree =(
9:20 pm BTW, just downloaded NPCScan & it didn't work for me, I seen him on my own & I can't figure out how to get it to work properly.

NPCID is 54320 and i didnt enter in any location, i left it blank. When i first entered it in, it happened to me too, i put in a location, waited, saw him spawn right infront of me a couple hours later but scanner never went off (sadly he was brutally murdered by masses of hunters all trying to tame at once till a few got fed up and outright killed him), second sighting was a couple weeks after, i had the location empty, and after about a day and a half of camping when he popped my scanner went wild ^-^

NPC scan was updated last week with all the new rares so no need to input the ID

You addon didn't pick him up on the second spawn because he was already cached, meaning it can't be cached for the second time.
If you want your scanner to pick him up, you'll need to delte your cache folder after every time you see him tamed or wild.

To do this you have to be offline and warcraft needts to be completely switched off, you can't be on other character.
Go to you wow folder, find Cache folder and delete it. It's not critical, it does no harm to your client.

Your NPC scan is working again:)

But, if you ever need to input the ID, you'll need to press ESC to bring up your ingame general meanu, choose interface -- addons -- NPC scan, then there is a manu with a list of all rares tht it'll be looking for, the ones that are not cached in your current zone will be highlighted. Go to the bottom and fill in the fieds, or just the ID field and press +, pressing OK will just close it;p

PS: Getting on the tree is the easiest way, persnally parked on it, pressed space to fligh up and stayed there till he spawned. Whatever happens don't press any keys that will reposition you, just space to go up and X to go down:)

If you are an engineer, you could also rely on flexweave underlay, which makes a cloak able to me used to create a parachute, which can help a lot.

KK, so I think I figured out how to "clear cache" & it's totally different from everything I find. My folders are all messed up somehow. I just looked up creature cache & delete that & it works now. Only thing is.... Having to relog out everytime kuz of ppls pets out. I had Banty go off for me 4-5 times & i exit, delete, relog over each time, not cool. =/

I got my boyfriend on his mage to pull him down and take all his damage while I tamed him.
Found that a lot easier than trying to get on trees etc as I just died.

Use a slow fall cloak. Easiest one is from the Nether Ray Quartermaster.

You could get someone to pull him down for you and grab aggro quickly before the other person goes splat.

the only bad thing about that is that some people see rare and must kill it. It happens alot which is why the tree is safer just to prevent him from getting killed on you.

I've done it my way so many times that so far no one has killed it. Then again he likes to spawn when my sever goes dead. Only time he got killed is when 5 hunters flew up in the sky after him, shot him, some made the fall and killed it by trying to get aggro.

I don't like the tree. I do what works 100% of the time. I tried getting on the tree AFTER I got him and I can tell you its one hell of a cookie to get on.
