Err what? (pets on char select screen)

Unread post by Yaone »

So I just tamed Karoma on my alt hunter (Yay me!) and I noticed something with him on the char select screen, he phased in to prowl, then totally disappeared. At first I freaked out thinking somehow I lost my new pet, but sure enough, he popped back up. Then I watched for a bit and he would sometimes phase out slowly, come back, then blink away and reappear.

Is that new? D: Exclusive to Spirit beasts? maybe just worgen?

Oh and on another note, he is immune to ice trap now, as is Sambas.

Edited for pic

Ohh that is so cool!

Either he doesn't do it for Night Elves or it's really rare. :( Been staring at him for a bit now and no luck.

Is he in prowl in-game? Maybe that's part of the reason.
Come see Kurasu's stables!

Speaking of prowl, I've noticed when taming a cat or SB that their prowl cannot be manually turned off - so I have to cancel the autocast and then send them to attack something to get it shut off.

Haven't tested beyond that, as I normally never use prowl and don't want to bother with having to redo the above, but I'm wondering if this might have something to do with the effect described by the OP...

Its been like for a long time now. I don't know why, and if it is intentional it is more then a little ridiculous.

I tried to recreate what you saw, Yaone. I logged into Shade, pulled out my Marrok and put him into prowl before I logged out.

As you can see I did not have the same experience, and I sat there for a good while waiting on it.

It might be your screen settings? Sometimes if I take screenies in game in rapid order I get a random screenshot in the bunch that is darker and missing all the text that is normally there. Maybe something similar happened? Or perhaps it is just because you just tamed him, maybe some glitch because he is a fresh tame or something? Has he been stabled yet at all?

No idea really, though it is odd.

And this screenie just made me realize it's past time that I changed out my tabard for another...

I'm thinking it's a bug. I just brought it up because it made me wonder if the OP's new SB was still stuck in "perma-prowl". :)

It used to be just when you tamed them they got stuck in prowl, but my Banny got stuck in spirit walk long after I tamed her hen I wanted to see spirit walk, then wouldnt get out of it until I found something to attack. Its a really bad bug.. almost as bad as that pet ealth glitch that tries and sometimes sucessfully gets me killed..

The one where if pet is summoned right into combat, it can get one shotted if it gets hit in the half second before its health gets auto-adjusted from like 5% to the expected 100%?

That's a whole lot of fun.

Well for one, I wasn't having him out in prowl, I know to turn it off as soon as the tame completes :D (there is about 3 seconds after a tame completes while the pet is still in combat)

Two, I changed all my settings around to see if it was a graphic glitch... no dice.

Three: I logged in to my NE hunter and it don't happen to her.

And last but not least, I only took one screen shot when I thought i could catch it "phasing" out. The pic you see is him almost completely gone before he came back in.

Ah I found out what it was, when the back ground changes, the moon specifically, he fades in and out.

Edit: Magria in pic. And again, its when the moon changes from back and forth.

I just recreated this effect on my 80 worgen with Gondria. Gondira was not stealthed in game due to said bug.

It is exactly Yaone said, its that moon transition that makes them blink out. Kinda neat, but probably some graphic glitch :\
